I think this is the "jump the shark" moment. Having one per year is interesting - have this many games that are far way from a real game (bad ice, etc.) is a joke.
I agree...the only bigger farce is deciding games with a gimmick like a shoot out!

What are those loud noises you're hearing? Folks in T.O. are jumping off the Jays bandwagon. What are those sobs you're hearing? Staff at the CBC are crying over the Leafs not playing the Habs in the first round!

I just wish that Anthopoulos could use the waiver wire to get better fans at the Dome - it's an embarrassment to see how many so called fans are behaving.

Aside from whine that the Jays lost one whole game? Maybe we should have a royal commission on the state of baseball in Toronto. :-)

As a Jays fan, I found the booing embarrassing. This was game 1/162. While the playoffs are not guaranteed by any stretch, this team should be in the hunt in September for the first time in many years. Let's enjoy the ride in T.O.!
Posted Monday April 01, 2013, About: Something 'dramatically wrong' with system
The biggest problem in baseball is the payroll disparity. According to Deadspin, the Yankees payroll is $228,995,945 and the Astros payroll is $24,328,538. Even the Blue Jays payroll (who spent like a big market team this summer) is $118,244,039 - just over half of the Yankees payroll. MLB needs a payroll floor (like the NHL) and a better cap system!
Posted Monday April 01, 2013, About: Yankees-Red Sox a 2013 dud
The entire division should be interesting. I don't think the Sox have done enough to improve by 25 games (which is what they'd need if they want to make the playoffs). Tampa Bay seems to be the safest choice to win the division (Toronto a close second). Given that the AL West teams play Houston 18 times each, it's likely that at least one (and possibly two) of the wild card teams will come from there....looking forward to September!!!

It was the Boston media that orchestrated the "Hire John Farrell" plan. Should be an interesting year in Beantown!
Posted Monday March 25, 2013, About: Wells deal a panic move for Yanks
As a Jays fan, I have to say thank you to Mr. Cashman - he has just reduced the Yanks chances to contend!
Posted Monday March 11, 2013, About: Happ 'very' frustrated by role
He's a great insurance policy for Toronto but I'm sure he doesn't like being a "6th starter" in the minors. My guess is that, if the Jays rotation looks healthy, he'll be traded by late May.

So does Ron Wilson get hired as an Assistant Scout? :-)

In a cost-saving move, MLSE fires Bryan Colangelo and gives the job to Brian Burke - Colangelo is retained as a scout.

Posted Wednesday January 23, 2013, About: Luongo deal to mystery team on the table
Trading for Luongo seems to be a dumb idea. He's a good goaltender but the contract is just stupid. Why give up assets for an albatross of a contract?
Posted Tuesday January 22, 2013, About: Can MLB force Loria to spend on players (again)?
The NHL system is far from perfect but I like the concept of a salary floor! Wonder if MLB would ever agree to that.

Yawn...wake me up when someone amnesty's Luongo's contract
