So, can we take from that, that players would rather play for a 'nice' coach who fails (Edwards) rather than a 'tough' coach who helps them win (Coughlin)?
makes people talk about something else other than their horrible record and play for a bit, and then they can defend themselves later when the questions re-start by pointing to a move like this and saying "see, we are doing something"...
If you're going to bash the Cowboys, at least try and get the facts right - otherwise you just end up looking stupid...
He needs to be very careful he's not being talked into this by a fear of looking weak, or by the thought that the team can't do without him against the Rams, Bucs and Giants...it's a long season and 3 games with Johnson followed by 10 games with a healthy and motivated Romo would be far more valuable than several games with a recovering Romo...
Kobe, much to many insular fans disgust, has always been a bit more worldly than the average NBA jock, and understands that some things US fans hold so dear, while incredibly significant, aren't actually as big on a global scale....
FanNation - we are becoming a joke....
I don't think he can be held up as a 'Roids example...his power numbers actually got better after testing etc kicked in...it was his average etc that declined.
He has definitely tailed off, and it's sad. But as others have said, his work ethic and fitness seemed to decline over the years. He was a great centrefielder, but could have been so much more.
e.g, my opinion is that the sun actually revolves around the earth....
well, my opinion would be flat out wrong....
but that's based on the assumption that crossing party lines is innately a virtue. that bipartisanship (in terms of crossing party lines to support the other party against your own) is the be-all and end-all.
isn't true bipartisanship bringing the two parties together so that everyone agrees on the best position forward for the country? merely crossing party lines isn't bipartisan really, i would think...?
i have no problem with people saying they hate TO (personally i think HATING a sportsperson is kinda silly, but oh well), but i think exaggerated statements like 'he only cares about himself' are untrue - i think if anything his actions with the cowboys show he most cares about WINNING...sure, he may not go about it in the right way always (and in the case of the Eagles it backfired badly), but it all stems from his desire to WIN.
Many other 'stars' in the NFL are far more concerned with personal stats, and seem to care less about their team winning, as long as they look good for the next fat contract. they are bigger problems than TO, but we let many of them slide...
I just think it is legitimate for people to say that Obama represents a bigger change from Bush than McCain. Not saying Obama is more non-partisan than McCain, just that the argument he is a bigger change (which is in play since McCain is trying to play on his maverick persona and the fact that he too represents change) is a legitimate one...
now, that in no way means that change is all important, or the biggest consideration. maybe too much change would be a bad thing.
speaking up and trying to help the team improve, lessen its mistakes and win in future is being a team player.
now if he'd turned it into a media circus, done the primadonna thing at a news conference and being incredibly disruptive, then obviously that's different...
but saying something to the other guy that can make the most difference, in the privacy of the team area (well, not entirely private, hence the anonymous 'source') - that's okay - in fact that is being a good team player...
why can't people see this? are they so blinded by their TO hate?
