LMAO,

otherbeer, you have the right to your opinion, as any moron from NE does......Sounds like alot of sour grapes to me. Didn't the Steelers do exactly what you say your beloved Patsies have to do, last year, and win a SB? Like I said before, wait until the end of the season and see whos "prissy little" vs "butt kickers" schedules throws together. I'm sure Big Ben and the rest of the Champs would savor the opportunity to kick some Patsies a** in the playoffs.

WOW....

Sounds like my posts are hitting to close to home....the Patriots will forever have an asterix besides there SB wins, whether official or just in everyones minds. They never were a dominating team ( except for the first half of the 2007 season; before the cheating thing came out ), winning there SB by an average of 3 points, 2 of those on last second Vinatieri FGs. So far this year, Brady has not been perfect by any means, except against inferior opponents. We will see just how good the respective Pats and Steelers are at the end of the year. There is quite a bit of room to argue who is the Team of the Decade, esp if the Steelers repeat as SB champs.

LOL,

OK,OK, now I've got somebody riled up about the supposed bias the refs have FOR the Steelers....have you heard about the Hines Ward rule or how a sure INT for a TD is somehow ruled invalid, AFTER the game was over? How many teams have had meetings with Goodells goons over differences with the officials? C'mon, man, if ANY team has NOT benefitted from the zebras calls, its been the Steelers. As far as the SB win over Seattle goes, yeah, I watched the whole thing.....every call made was discussed ad nauseum by the announcers and arguments were made FOR and AGAINST the calls. There were no black or white errors. Again, Willie Parker's TD didn't happen because of a penalty, just great effort.

whippy,

not angry, just tired of hearing the same old crap from the "wanna be's", like those pretenders to the Steelers throne...the Patsies, that haven't won crap since they were forced to stop cheating. The last time I checked, the Steelers spanked NE at Foxboro ( yes, I know, his majesty Tom Terrific was out with his knee injury ). The AFCCs a few years ago was THEN and NOW is the only thing that matters. By the way.....NOW the Steelers have 6 Lombardi Trophies proudly displayed at Heinz Field...will be great to see #7 after this season

jnorman41,

wrong on both of last 2 posts.....Seagulls were lucky to be that close; didn't see the refs laying down blocks for Parker on that 75yd TD. Calls went both ways that game....CHAMPIONS find a way to overcome those obstacles. As far as Ben is concerned, I've never seen another QB get hammered on without a flag. How many roughing-the-passer calls has he gotten in his career? Give you a clue..it's way <10.

vstrugs,

It's funny how people think that.....if you were to review the entire footage of all the Steelers games in the past 10 years, you would find that the ratio of "biased/terrible/favorable calls runs significantly AGAINST the Steelers......yet, despite that, they have won 2 SB in the past 4 yrs, without cheating...how about that?
Posted Friday November 06, 2009, About: Another Ochocinco stunt
LMAO,

Can't wait for old "choko-stinko" to come to town. Hope he sends Troy or Gary Clark something.....That earlier Cincy game was against a Steelers team still learning to play D w/o Troy and an offense still trying to figure out their best strategy. Dont' think Ben will serve up another "gift" like he did last time and don't expect such loose coverage for Plamer to throw into with Troy back......

vstrugs,

you don't realize how to the point you are.....the real problem is that a few players ( actually one to be honest ) play under a different set of rules than the others.....

PUH-LEEZ!!!

Anybody who believes that Tom Brady doesn't get preferrential treatment is either naive, stupid, lives in New England, or a combination of the 3. How many QB have had knee injuries similar to Brady's in the past few years? Answer, several.... Was there an issue resulting in immediate rule changes then? Answer, NO. In fact, plays involving Brady have resulted in several rule changes in the past few years. Even Peyton Manning, who is unquestionably the most complete pocket QB there is in the NFL, doesn't get the kid glove treatment that Brady does. The QB of the reigning SB Champions, Ben Roethlisberger, routinely gets late hits and blows to the head because he extends the play much longer than other QBs....does he get any calls from the refs? In fact, during the Ravens game earlier this year, I saw Brady walk over to a ref after the play was whistled dead, complain about contact, and BOOM the yellow flag was thrown....LUDICROUS!!!

As far as Joey Porter is concerned, he was an integral part of some of the great Steelers defenses, including the 2005 SB Champions, of his time. He remains a talented, albeit outspoken, player who more times than not, backs up what he has to say. Looking forward to seeing Joey plant Brady in the Gilette turf..OH WAIT, I FORGOT, defensive players aren't allowed to touch St. Tom due to the latest BRADY RULE......

LOL,

Welcome back all the smack......thank God the season's finally hear. The boys in B&G will be ready to go for #7. For all the bravado of the Ravens, this year wont be as close as last. Steelers are actually better than last year and Ravens lost some significant pieces of their team. As far as the 'Skins game? puh-leez, it's preseason game #2 already.......
Posted Friday July 17, 2009, About: Ravens trying to change Mason's mind
LOL, doesn't matter if Mason stays out or comes back.... Pittsburgh is better already than last year with Mendenhall/Sepulveda returning and Timmons on the field for 3 downs instead of 1. The OL will gel with experience (plus Urbik from the draft). And Limas Sweed looks light years ahead of last years training camp. Ravens lost their starting center (Birk an adequate replacement, but no upgrade), and a key defender in Bart Scott, who made Lewis look like a all-pro. Combine that with the loss of Rex Ryan, arguably one of the best DCs in the league, and it will be a surprise if the Ravens make the playoffs.

Wow, 40-plus posts about this.....really? McGinest is a dinosaur. But given the alternatives, may actually be an upgrade to Bruschi or Seau. LOL!!!
Posted Thursday June 25, 2009, About: Fisher: Titans RBs Dumb and Dumber?
Dine & Dash, Dumb & Dumber, Beavis & Butthead........I don't care what they want to call themselves, just wait until the 1st week in Sept when they run headlong into the meatgrinder aka the Steelers defense. After Harrison & Co. are done with them, they may just have to call themselves Cripple & Gimp.........
Posted Monday June 08, 2009, About: Dolphins mad at Marino?
Lets face it.....Dolphins year boils down to how many times Brady gets planted by Bart Scott a la his patented "Big Ben takedown..." Glad it's gonna be Brady and not Roth' any more. The discussion is really moot ayway......AFC East Champs are probably gonna be the #4 seed ( maybe #3 if AFC South is close ) and don't think much of a chance of going to the Big Show.....
Posted Friday June 05, 2009, About: Ryan: Patriots don't intimidate me
Just glad it will be Brady getting his ass planted by Bart Scott instead of Big Ben.......
Posted Thursday March 26, 2009, About: Fox: Peppers-to-Patriots 'almost laughable'
LMAO.....I find it quite humorous that there are individuals who STILL think Belicheat is some kind of coaching genius, even after undisputed evidence of videotaping other teams signals that directly afforded him a clear advantage in pre-calling his own plays. Despite this advantage, the PATS have "dominated" a weak AFC East division and barely won their 3 SB due to the foot of Adam Vinatieri. Funny how the other so-called "geniuses" involved in their 3 SB wins ( Romeo Crennel and the OC/name escapes me at the moment ) have done so well after leaving. Funny how the PATS have NOT been so "dominant" since the videotaping stopped......Maybe Belicheat truly is the coach that made the old Cleveland Browns the doormat of the AFC Central when he was there. Should be interesting to see how he and the PATS do with Tom Brady back this year....no more excuses. Road to the Super Bowl runs through Pittsburgh, baby!!!!
Posted Tuesday March 17, 2009, About: Report: Patriots trading for Peppers
Pats needed to replace their most versatile LB ( Vrabel ) on a quickly aging D. But Peppers has already played his best ball. Don't expect him to play dominant ball in a 3-4 scheme ( he's a classic 4-3 lineman ). We will see if Brady rebounds from the knee injury, but statistically speaking, just about every player has seen a big dropoff in their level of play ( granted, he's a pocket QB, so not as big an issue as other positions ). This might be flogging a dead horse, but I wonder just how much the signal stealing the Pats did the past 4-5 years has benefitted "Super Tom?" Maybe he falls back to Earth this season and becomes the 6th round pick that he was with Michigan.....As a Steeler fan, I can tell you it won't be pretty when the Pats play the Jets and their "Ravens-style" D. I'm looking forward to the 1st time Bart Scott "introduces" himself to Mr. Brady.......LOL.
Posted Saturday December 13, 2008, About: Steelers coach unhappy with Parker
Agree totally that you keep this kind of issue in house. But, understand FWP frustration; what a bad break ( pardon the pun ), going from the verge of winning the NFL rushing title to playing at a significantly lower level this year. One of the biggest issues that is not being discussed is if Arians has what it takes to be an NFL OC? He was considered a "genius" at Mass, but his game-planning is obviously predictable. With all of the offensive weapons we have, I still see very basic, "vanilla" play calling. The running game is not going to take off bcz simply put, the O-line play is poor. Watching tape of the Dallas game, it was very apparent that the Steelers RBs were getting contact behind the line of scrimmage on most plays. Although the offense historically has been run 1st, you have to adjust to the realities at hand. Ben can't continue to make plays with LB/DB drapped on his shoulders. Maybe getting Dixon into the offensive mix ( a la Randall El ) would at least cause a distraction/require additional game planning for the opposing D and decrease the 8 in the box defense becoming commonly played against us.
