Well...it's getting late. Been fun to talk some smack with you all....even the Pats fans. Good weekend everybody!
otherbeer, you have the right to your opinion, as any moron from NE does......Sounds like alot of sour grapes to me. Didn't the Steelers do exactly what you say your beloved Patsies have to do, last year, and win a SB? Like I said before, wait until the end of the season and see whos "prissy little" vs "butt kickers" schedules throws together. I'm sure Big Ben and the rest of the Champs would savor the opportunity to kick some Patsies a** in the playoffs.
IRONMAN ( the baby )
Sounds like my posts are hitting to close to home....the Patriots will forever have an asterix besides there SB wins, whether official or just in everyones minds. They never were a dominating team ( except for the first half of the 2007 season; before the cheating thing came out ), winning there SB by an average of 3 points, 2 of those on last second Vinatieri FGs. So far this year, Brady has not been perfect by any means, except against inferior opponents. We will see just how good the respective Pats and Steelers are at the end of the year. There is quite a bit of room to argue who is the Team of the Decade, esp if the Steelers repeat as SB champs.
OK,OK, now I've got somebody riled up about the supposed bias the refs have FOR the Steelers....have you heard about the Hines Ward rule or how a sure INT for a TD is somehow ruled invalid, AFTER the game was over? How many teams have had meetings with Goodells goons over differences with the officials? C'mon, man, if ANY team has NOT benefitted from the zebras calls, its been the Steelers. As far as the SB win over Seattle goes, yeah, I watched the whole thing.....every call made was discussed ad nauseum by the announcers and arguments were made FOR and AGAINST the calls. There were no black or white errors. Again, Willie Parker's TD didn't happen because of a penalty, just great effort.
not angry, just tired of hearing the same old crap from the "wanna be's", like those pretenders to the Steelers throne...the Patsies, that haven't won crap since they were forced to stop cheating. The last time I checked, the Steelers spanked NE at Foxboro ( yes, I know, his majesty Tom Terrific was out with his knee injury ). The AFCCs a few years ago was THEN and NOW is the only thing that matters. By the way.....NOW the Steelers have 6 Lombardi Trophies proudly displayed at Heinz Field...will be great to see #7 after this season
wrong on both of last 2 posts.....Seagulls were lucky to be that close; didn't see the refs laying down blocks for Parker on that 75yd TD. Calls went both ways that game....CHAMPIONS find a way to overcome those obstacles. As far as Ben is concerned, I've never seen another QB get hammered on without a flag. How many roughing-the-passer calls has he gotten in his career? Give you a clue..it's way <10.
It's funny how people think that.....if you were to review the entire footage of all the Steelers games in the past 10 years, you would find that the ratio of "biased/terrible/favorable calls runs significantly AGAINST the Steelers......yet, despite that, they have won 2 SB in the past 4 yrs, without cheating...how about that?
Can't wait for old "choko-stinko" to come to town. Hope he sends Troy or Gary Clark something.....That earlier Cincy game was against a Steelers team still learning to play D w/o Troy and an offense still trying to figure out their best strategy. Dont' think Ben will serve up another "gift" like he did last time and don't expect such loose coverage for Plamer to throw into with Troy back......
you don't realize how to the point you are.....the real problem is that a few players ( actually one to be honest ) play under a different set of rules than the others.....
Anybody who believes that Tom Brady doesn't get preferrential treatment is either naive, stupid, lives in New England, or a combination of the 3. How many QB have had knee injuries similar to Brady's in the past few years? Answer, several.... Was there an issue resulting in immediate rule changes then? Answer, NO. In fact, plays involving Brady have resulted in several rule changes in the past few years. Even Peyton Manning, who is unquestionably the most complete pocket QB there is in the NFL, doesn't get the kid glove treatment that Brady does. The QB of the reigning SB Champions, Ben Roethlisberger, routinely gets late hits and blows to the head because he extends the play much longer than other QBs....does he get any calls from the refs? In fact, during the Ravens game earlier this year, I saw Brady walk over to a ref after the play was whistled dead, complain about contact, and BOOM the yellow flag was thrown....LUDICROUS!!!
As far as Joey Porter is concerned, he was an integral part of some of the great Steelers defenses, including the 2005 SB Champions, of his time. He remains a talented, albeit outspoken, player who more times than not, backs up what he has to say. Looking forward to seeing Joey plant Brady in the Gilette turf..OH WAIT, I FORGOT, defensive players aren't allowed to touch St. Tom due to the latest BRADY RULE......
Welcome back all the smack......thank God the season's finally hear. The boys in B&G will be ready to go for #7. For all the bravado of the Ravens, this year wont be as close as last. Steelers are actually better than last year and Ravens lost some significant pieces of their team. As far as the 'Skins game? puh-leez, it's preseason game #2 already.......
