I think Burke should have gotten rid of him right from the start, but to get rid of him now doesn't make any sense. Burke trusted him from the start and should continue to let him coach - the Leafs are a long way away from being a winning hockey club.

The reason I became an NFL and Chicago Bears fan was because of Walter Payton. This man is the face of this franchise - not only was he arguably the greatest football player ever, he was one of the best people ever to live on this earth. I named my son after this great man. Payton will be seeing his first Bears game in Seattle next weekend. I live in northern Alberta Canada and would love nothing better than to take him to Soldier Field when he's old enough (he's only three months old now) and show him a statue of the great man that he was named after. Because of this bonehead, I guess it isn't going to happen; very sad.

There is NO way Detroit would be interested in this guy. The reason Detroit is such a great team is because all their players know their role and play it as well as any players in the league. Heatley is a great offensive talent, but he doesn't care too much about backchecking or playing defensive hockey. However, I do believe every player in the league would love to play in Detroit and if any team could change a players' bad habits, it would be them.

I agree with your statement; he isn't proven yet, but I think it was a good move. Any young QB is a gamble, but I think Cutler is one of the best young QB's in the league. And as a Bears fan, this is something we've never had; I'm sure you can understand our excitement. I think it's a move well over half the league would have made if they could have. But as you stated, he has a lot to prove before we can say it was a good deal.

Uh, no. I didn't make those other predictions, but you are quite the hater of Cutler. And I'm sure he has a lot because of the move he made to get out of Denver. Anything can happen, he could get injured or maybe even pull off the same stunt down the road with the Bears, but I know that Cutler is one of the top young QB's in the game today. And if you are taking a chance on someone, he is the guy to do it with. Most NFL GM's agree (ones that need a QB) that the Bears made a deal they all would have, but I guess you know more than they do. Thanks for the great insight Einstein, lol!

The Bears don't take chances on guys like Burress or Jones; it's not their style. The biggest risk they've taken in a long time is Cutler. And I'm only saying that because of his squabbles with the Broncos brass. It seems like everyone thinks the Bears have to make moves right now. I agree they need a WR, but let's not take away from these young WR's getting some valuable playing time this season. They should be patient; some great WR's may be available in the next few years. The reason getting Cutler was such a great move is because he will be a great QB for the next 10+ years. Go Bears!
