if the weight isn't an advantage issue, why not make them so they're well over the minimum weight so there is no issue? obviously there is some sort of advantage to making the connecting rods as light as possible.. would one being under the minimum weight make any difference? i have no idea, but there must be a reason why they're pushing the envelope with the weight.. just went a little too far with it.

IIRC, carl long got hammered because the engine he bought from someone was also a microscopic difference.. i guess you're better off building in-house so a vendor can't get you screwed

not that i disagree but him starting talladega and climbing out would still get him the points which would help him from falling in the standings more.. he's in 26th right now and needs to be in the top 20 for the wild card.. he's 42 points out of 20th and you have to figure if he doesn't start richmond he will drop another 20-30 points.. might be a tough hill to climb if he doesn't get any points for the next 3-4 races
