I got to see a lot of him for one year as a Buckeye. He will be the dominant center within about two years. He hasn't hooped in almost 18 months prior to this year. His size comes with some awkwardness. He was never one to be to up or down so the comments made about his demeanor are not surprising. He is not looking for praise, just a chance to prove himself.

He has an agreement with Tressel that he can only coach at schools that have Ohio State on the schedule at least once a year. I don't see OSU joining the Big East very soon.

Early positions
Mangino graduated from Youngstown State University in 1987, serving as an assistant coach there in his last two years under then-head coach Jim Tressel. He also coached at Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania and Geneva College, before being hired as an assistant coach at Kansas State University in 1991. Prior to the 1999 season, Mangino left Kansas State to take an assistant position at the University of Oklahoma. While there, he served as the offensive coordinator for the team that beat Florida State for the 2000 national championship. Following that season, he was awarded the Frank Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant coach.

I got a rant...I think the level at which one sinks to go get there point across demonstrates one's level of 1) brains, 2) maturity, 3) parental upbrining, 4) moral compass. Why does anybody feel they need to use poor language at anytime? I used to cuss like a sailor. I feel better about myself when I don't. It is simply a matter of one's value systems. If you truly have a biblical world view, there is never a time or place for profanity. By the way...is there a clause in his contract about a death benefit? Is there one for donuts as well? He needs serious help. I hope that the university is smart enough to get him some.

Here is the deal with all the in state teams. They are all "state owned" schools. OSU generates huge pay days for them. We have only had to play an in stater once in my lifetime a narrow 23-19 win vs Cinti in '02. This has nothing to do with Tress. This was a policy put in play by the governor during the dark days of Cooper. In later years they have been scheduling two a year vs in state schools. Since Tress got here he has been asking that we schedule a home/home with bigger schools more often. We did have a home/home with Army but they bailed 9 months ago. When Tress got here he scheduled Washington (they were good then), Oklahoma, Miami FL, USC and Texas. Thats a pretty good list wouldn't you say? USC, Miami and OK still to come.
