Well...life is a highway...so Torts might take the sane road this time....
Posted Tuesday June 25, 2013, About: Shaw: 'Worth all the stitches'
When the Bruins last won the Cup Thomas was the best goalie in the world.....he was the difference maker..and the fact Luongo seems to spit the bit under pressure (thank God the Hawks did not trade for him). The core of the Hawks will be in tact for a few more years...the key is re-signing Bickell and getting some "grit" to protect Towes and Kane.....the Hawks have some good young talent ready to try and break through so this team can contend for years to come. As far as the "fairweather" fan thing goes...when you reward sh8t you get sh8t....the Hawks lost two generations of fans by not showing home games on tv. Bill Wirtz basically tried to ruin one of the best franchises in the history of Hockey....it's sad to think his death was the only reason the Hawks came back from the dead....don't blame the fans...blame Wirtz....who pays 300 bucks to watch a minor league team?

I have been patient...reading all the comments. When you have an owner that alienates his best players (Hull, Mikita), trades your best players (Roenick, Belfour, Hasek), and could care less about the HUGE fan base..then you have about 10 to 15 years of 4000 die hards LISTENING to games on the radio. The Hawks actually had to BUY air time on radio before William Wirtz passed. That being said I was absolutely in awe of how good these teams matched up. It could have been the other way very easy...but the one thing the Bruins were holding on to was their cup win against VAN...well one HUGE difference was you had the best goalie in the world then....you had Rask last night.....I will be celebrating the win and spreading the Hawks love all around this summer....can't wait for next year already!

It looks to me like the Hawks figured out that the refs are calling soft penalties but letting the rough stuff go. If the Hawks wanted to goon it up the can dress car bomb or Meyers....but a great point was made today on the NHL Network. The reason the Bruins are out hitting the Hawks is because the Hawks have more possession of the puck.....and they use their speed to get through the neutral zone. If Patrice is out..it will be tougher than the Hawks losing Towes.....the Hawks are a much deeper team.

My prayers go out to the people who are affected by this horrible disaster! A few months ago we had one of those "once in a lifetime" rainstorms in Chicago. My power stayed on but there was so much rain the water was coming in the backdoor going in the basement like a water fall.....I told my wife if we ever get a new house...make sure it's a condo above the 10th floor....lol.
Posted Sunday June 23, 2013, About: How serious was Patrice Bergeron's' Injury?
He is one of the best all around players in the world...no doubt. This coming from a Hawks fan....I don't know what kind of injury he has, but if he's out, the Bruins are losing their best player IMHO. I would still take Towes for his all around game but it's really close. Now on the game six.....I hope the Hawks close it out tomorrow...but if not it has been one great series!

Well...I have been reading all the comments about how the Hawks "D" is not as good as the Bruins.....and I agree somewhat. Was it me or did the Bruins get soft in the second half of regulation yesterday? They looked like they thought the Hawks would just roll over....uh-uh...aint gonna happen.....I was also impressed with the physicality of the Hawks....BUT they better get their power play straightened up or they will have to win like that every game.....

And if my memory is not totally shot from the endless river/creek hockey I played as a kid, Tony Esposito was traded from the Hawks as well. Anyways if the refs let the boys play I am afraid as a Hawks fan I must say Bruins in 6. However I still think the Hawks overcame just as much if not more in the playoffs.....the horrid call resulting in a non-goal in game 7 against Detroit was one of the worst calls I have ever seen. Saad got two minutes for being a punching bag. Thanks to Seabrook we moved on to face the defending champions and prevailed. Coach Q and his mustache are going to have to find a wee bit of magic to defeat the beasts from the east....

I come to the NHL FanNation every day to read the comments. I could never guess any of your fave teams by the comments(wink, wink, nudge, nudge). Born and bread in Chicago....played hockey for over 20 years and have been a Hawks fan since the collapse against Montreal....back in the early 70's...Bill Wirtz tried single handedly tried to kill Hockey in this town. The Hawks did not show home games on TV (unless you count the pay per playoff game Hawkvision) until he passed away. They traded or let go every great player except Mikita and Tony-O....cripes even CHelios, a Chicagoan, left because our organ-eye-zation sucked so bad....So I have lived through losing Hull, Roenick, Belfour, Hasek, Savard, and Chelios....we FINALLY are competing again after being dead for 20 years....so this is a dream come true for an old Hawkm Fan!!!!!
Posted Monday June 10, 2013, About: Seguin putting business ahead of friendship
Well I hope I am wrong and the Hawks can win every home game....and they are a very good road team.....I have a feeling they are going to split 88 and 19 so CHara can only play against one....
Posted Monday June 10, 2013, About: Seguin putting business ahead of friendship
Ummm..the Blackhwaks D is much better than Pittsburgh....if I remember correctly the Hawks are the best defensive team in the league.....PK is as good if not better than the Bruins....so this comes down to the "Sheet Goal"...who gives up the softer goals.....even though I am a HUGE Hawks fan..I say Boston in 6....they match up as well as Detroit dis wit the Hawks...with more talent.

I have watched more hockey this year than I eve have in my life with NBC Sports Network, NHL Network and Comcast Sports net. Believe me..only a healthy Penguins or Bruins team can come close in the east.....I still worry about Detroit (our nemesis), and Annaheim in the west......
Posted Friday March 08, 2013, About: Tortorella: Fans, media shouldn't know injuries
There are only a few of the Blackhwaks in any of the top categories in fantasy...at least that's what NBC Sports Channel said yesterday.....so there ya go Spiny...
Posted Thursday February 07, 2013, About: Will it be fight night in Chicago?
The Hawks really have no "enforcer".......except Brandon Bollig.....they have some psycho in the minors who fans want up...Kyle Beach....but I guess he's not mentally stable enough...lol

My second favorite Blackhawk behind Bobby Hull....Just wish he could have won a cup with us!

Although it is early in the season, I would still take the Sox team, manager, GM, AND Owner over the North Side Beer Garden Society. Cubs- Sox seris this season will be a battle for the better mediocre team....
Posted Wednesday May 04, 2011, About: Ailing Rondo asked out of Tuesday's loss
Well just watching how the teams have ratcheted up for the playoofs I would say Miami looks awesome....even though the Bulls are my team.....Miami has two players who will get "Jordan Rules" calls in their favor.
Posted Friday July 23, 2010, About: Hawks clear room ... to sign Niemi?
It's not that they are "trying" to screw him.....Tallon and the Hawks HAD to win the cup with all the contracts that would strangle them in the future....now they are looking to keep the core together (Seabrook, Keith, Hossa, Towes, Kane, Sharp) and still give the team a chance to compete for the Cup next year. Don't forget Chicago was HORRID for YEARS...so they have tons of depth in the minors....Corey Crawford and Marty Turco could be the opening game goalies....
Posted Friday July 23, 2010, About: Hawks clear room ... to sign Niemi?
No worries....he should be happy to sign with this team....let's face it he barely beat out Corey Crawford as the back up last year.....if he don't want to play with the defending Cup champions let him go play for Ottawa. He would help them get over the hump.....maybe.
Posted Thursday July 22, 2010, About: Blackhawks may need more from Toews
The difference with Bolland and Brower is that they had to adapt to a more defensive style to make the team as young uns. Just give Brower a year with Kane-Towes and see what he does....I think we could do pretty well with those two on our line!
Posted Thursday July 22, 2010, About: Blackhawks may need more from Toews
Sorry..kinger...IU was not saying anything negative towards you..I was talking to author of this fine article......The Hawks will be fine...Niemi or Turco...
