I'm surprised they are actually decent this season.

Francona has them playing pretty well, but the Indians starting pitching is suspect. A 4.44 ERA (9th of 15 team in the AL) isn't going to cut it over a 162 game season.

The starting rotation (at least 1-4) is in great shape so long as Verlander's awful outing doesn't become an ongoing event. Starters team ERA ranks 3rd in the AL, but the relievers ranks 9th, not terrible but not good enough to win a WS especially with guys like Phil Coke (7.59 ERA and 1.31 WHIP)

Yankees starters have a combined ERA of 3.70, if they maintain that it won't matter when/if Arod, Tex, Granderson, etc get back on the field. With starting pitching like that, they will win alot of games, just like they have been. I'm surprised they're playing .600 ball right now.

4,
Charles Rogers
Roy Williams
Mike Williams and
Calvin Johnson. At least CJ is an all time great, but Rogers had a well known drug problem in college (Mich St.) but was a hometown boy, Roy Williams was ok, Mike Williams took a year off in college before entering the draft and wasn't a hard worker in the least. Ugh!

Millen set them back sooooo far, now when the current GM (Mayhew) has a draft that results in one or two decent starters, fans think he's doing GREAT! The bar is sooo low it's just sad.

Definitely good for him, he was a ticking time bomb at the enormous weight. He has a new book coming out, apparently all about him and his estranged son Prince. To think they use to be best friends. Prince use to hit batting practice home runs at old Tiger Stadium when he was just 13 years old, amazing.

Yikes, that would be a scary decline.

Yep all that extra weight has to got wear down your joints and body at some point.

William Clay Ford Sr. is worse. He hires Matt Millen and despite awful records year after year, Millen last EIGHT seasons with a record 31-85. The Detroit Lions are one of a handful of teams that have NEVER been to the Super Bowl. They have ONE playoff win since 1970 and only one conference game apperance, that got whacked 41-10 in that game.

I agree, but I think it will only go 6 if Carmelo can score 40+ against the Heat in multiple games. I'm skeptical he can do that against Miami's defense. I don't particularly like the Heat, but they're are just head and shoulders better than everyone else this season.

Agreed, he's been alot of fun to watch in the 180+ games he's been with Detroit. He'd be even better if he lost 50 lbs. That said the last few years of that deal are going to look really, really bad.

But this season is different for the Knicks they'll win every playoff series until they face the Heat. Then the Knicks will likely get crushed in 5, maybe 6 games.

For his size he's surprisingly quick on the bases.

Well that's his good outing for while, look for another one post All Star break.

which is pretty impressive considering Moustakas is hitting something like .180 and Hosmer is only hitting .250

They bolstered their rotation, but I don't expect Santana (2.00 ERA) to maintain his current dominance given his career ERA is 4.27. Shields' ERA is about 0.80 lower than his career mark, though that could be due to pitching in an easier division than the AL East.

Fragile Josh Johnson
RA Dickey pitching in the tougher AL East not the NL East
Mediocre Mark Buehrle

Not surprised the starting pitching is struggling, but I didn't expect their starters to have an ERA over 5 either.
Posted Friday April 26, 2013, About: Yankees ready to scrap spending limits
Agreed, strange concept.

SportsFun,
so you pay them for 2-3 years and then re-sign them or go and sign someone else to play that position?
Posted Thursday April 25, 2013, About: Ready, set, panic for Bundy?
Sooo there is nothing to indicate Bundy will ever be the same if he has to have TJ surgery, yet you compare him to Stasburg who has already had it and by most accounts is nearly the same pitcher. Which one is it? TJ surgery recovery rates now are outstanding. This will probably just be a bump in the road for Bundy, a very unfortunate one though just a bump nonetheless.

Would be great to see Eric Fisher fall to the Lions at #5, but I don't see it happening. That guys has soared up rankings lately.
