As a Yankees fan I am not that confortable with big bucks and a long term contract for Roy.. After his stint on the DL and the Allstar break, his numbers were pedestrian, and he is no spring chicken... The guy was a stud, but is he still? Cano is the only "prospect" I am not comfortable parting with..

I do remember thinking Joe basically killed Procter's arm that one year.. but otherwise, his "calm" approach worked much better for those teams than the Martin/Piniella way would.

But this added to your point of getting some production from nowhere.. In recent gossip type articles, it sounded like Torre did not handle A-rod that well, but then who could really do a great job with that narcissistic type character?
