Posted Thursday September 10, 2009, About: Terrelle Pryor: Everyone kills people
Come on, people - clearly he misspoke. I'm no OSU fan, but the treatment here of this kid's stumbling of the tongue should not be taken as "TP is dumb as a rock." He's a kid. Give him a break.
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Portland-Memphis deal dead for now
All Portland should want from Memphis is their lottery chances. I see no reason to take on more players who will want more PT. We already have two PG's more than capable of running the offense - Blake & Sergio. Taking on Conley would just be asking for headaches.

Marwin,

Scottie Pippen? You mean the guy who was selected by his teammates as the MVP of the 1992 Olympic Team? That Scottie Pippen?
Posted Tuesday November 11, 2008, About: D-Wade eyeing Bulls move?
Perhaps John Paxon is going to go down to Miami, kidnap DWade, give him a CIA-level makeover, a new name and passport and pass him off as a find from a foreign league? And then I suppose brainwash the entire world to forget the old Wade.

Maybe that's how the Bulls are supposed to get him.
Posted Tuesday November 11, 2008, About: Weis in trouble at Notre Dame?
My patience ran out half time Saturday. I'm done with him.

And good will or benefits of the doubt he gets from here on will have to be earned on the field and not based on speculation.

Cause by speculation, we were supposed to keep improving this year and be WAY ahead of where we are now. The last two weeks have been two giant, embarrassing steps backwards.

Certainly Weis will leave the cupboard full for the next coach who hopefully will know how to run a college program, teach fundamentals and for goodness sakes, MOTIVATE a team.
Posted Thursday November 06, 2008, About: Clausen 'banged up' for Boston College
If Weis doesn't have his team excited for a rivalry game this weekend, he's going to lose a lot of the benefit of the doubt he's been getting from fans.

This Saturday. it's time to go from "we can see improvement in our future" to "beating the snot out of a good team on the road."

Come on guys. You're good football players. Time to show off already.
Posted Thursday October 02, 2008, About: Notre Dame TE faces jail time
Anyways, back on point, I think the police are a little too zealous going after ND students. He's 20 and was having beer. That's what got him thrown into jail. He was caught for DUI in January, but by every indication he has learned his lesson from that already. There's no indication he was planning on driving home after this party or has driven under the influence at all since his arrest last Winter.

He's an adult. Underage Consumption by an adult... worst reason ever for using up a jail cell.
Posted Tuesday September 30, 2008, About: USC tailback wants more carries
If he wanted to be the big fish in a slightly smaller pond, he could have gone somewhere else. That's one of the only equalizers of recruiting.

But USC recruits all - to a man - have to believe that no matter the competition, they will win out and get the PT. That they will be the big fish in the big pond. That's one of the reasons their team has the collective swagger they do. Because everyone of those guys thinks he (and his teammates) are all-american caliper.

And if a back up is absolutely dying to get in the game, that's a good situation for a football team. All the back ups should be pushing like hell to get on the field.
Posted Tuesday September 30, 2008, About: Willingham done at Washington?
I hope Ty Willingham has a nice retirement. Despite every journalist in the country calling me a racist because I went to Notre Dame, I don't hold any ill-will toward the guy. HE never called me a racist. And he tried to win games while he was coaching my school's team. He even had one decent recruiting class which led us to two BCS games after he left.

Ty's biggest problem is that the West Coast offense was already passe when ND bought his model of it. It was dead as Dillinger when UW bought it. Both programs were trying to restore a sense of "doing things the right way" when they hired him, and both are going to end up getting rid of him because he just didn't win enough games.
Posted Thursday September 25, 2008, About: Willingham feeling heat in Washington
Notre Dame and it's fans have been absolutely villified for the last three years because of the firing of Willingham. There's no doubt that there are racists who cheer for ND and didn't want the guy around or gave him less latitude, but the vast majority of ND fans have been libeled with one of the worst labels you can give people. And it hurts. A lot.

I think for many of us (ND fans) the subsequent failure of Willingham at UW is a sort of vindication. That the guy was fired on his merits rather than because of the color of his skin. And maybe, just maybe, we'll be portrayed as less evil if we have UW as company.

And if anyone thinks ND fans are all in love with Weis, you have not been reading the same Q&A'a or message boards I have. Weis is getting tons of heat from our fickle fan base.
Posted Friday September 19, 2008, About: Did Huskies get back at OU's Granger?
The real instnt karma story here is that by sending three offensive linemen against one D-lineman for revenge, Willingham ended up with no one protecting Locker, who got hurt on the play.
