The Mavs have been very competetive for a long time with Nowitzki as the anchor, and they still are. Keep it real and give the guy a break.
Stephen Jackson, on the other hand, is not half as good as some people seem to think. His stats are somewhat inflated due to Nellie-ball. His shooting % and TO # are horrible. Plus he's semi-volatile. Wouldn't touch him if I was the GM of a contender. Can't see him accepting a supporting role like in his Spurs days.
What's the big fella doing there anyway?
Even considering Tinsley is beyond idiotic. How can he possibly help them?
If they bring Iverson aboard, my guess is Thabeet will come of the bench, which is probably a good idea anyway. He's far from ready to contribute.
All Rubio does, Lost, is hang with EVERYBODY he plays against. Why do you think every expert had him in the top 3?
The Jerome James analogy only further proves the stupidity of this post. James blew up for 2 weeks in a contract year!!! How is that in any way comparable to an 18 year old Spanish rookie who has never even seen the NBA?
Giving away Pau for dog scraps was the masterpiece, but adding Zach Randolph and now Iverson to a locker room full of young talented guys is pretty damn close. AI, Z-Bo, Gay, Mayo...all chuckers...where the hell are shots gonna come from? It'll get VERY ugly in a hurry.
If there's even remotely any reason to this, it'll be that Wallace A) ...is convinced that Iverson is still a major pull, and B) ...has completely given up on Conley.
And finally...how will they ever develop offensively challenged rook Thabeet? There will be absolutely no touches for him whatsoever!!!
Had the 'pleasure' of watching his full array of skills in a 2000 game at the Palace against VC's Raptors. He did NOTHING but shoot jumpers from the top of the key and the Pistons fans were actually booing him....their own guy. Kinda surreal experience.
Kandi actually pulled a Jerome James in his contract year and played ok for a couple of months. I don't know. It's not really worth the braincells, is it?
