unless you're a "potential" playoff team like the Rangers, Mariners, Brewers, Astros or Marlins and wanna do or die this season because it's pretty certain you wont be having any better of a chance down the road, then yeah. otherwise it would be stupid for the Dodgers or Angels to trade the young talent that has gotten them where they are at and WILL be what they need in the immediate future. a high profile ace has no way in hell guaranteed a championship lately. didn't worth with Sabbathia last year.

Baylor did as good as he could all those years with a cheap as **** owner who is just all of a sudden giving a crap. He should give up owner ship and sell the team to people who are gonna do what it takes to make them a real organization. Hopefully a group who will move them to the OC so they can play at the Honda Center instead of Staples. They could build upon the fan base in that area that already cheers for solid sports teams like the Ducks and Angels.

Finally...thank you for pointing this out to everyone who doesn't have a clue. The L.A. Rams played in the same stadium and yadda yadda yadda...get over it. Arte Moreno's job as owner of the Angels is to make progressive moves to make his team the best and increase profits for the franchise. A name change makes all the difference in the world. The Cowboys would not get the big market attention or sponsorship if they were the "Irvin Cowboys". Nor would the New Jersey Giants and Jets. That's the reason the Nets are being moved back to NY, that's why if the Buffalo Bills were to claim NYC their revenues would go up.

What's really too bad is that Cuban wasn't able to talk ownership into selling him his hometown team, the Pirates. That's a ball club that really needs a pick me up. They have the least amount of attention in majors let alone their own league or division...they've had some quality players and a great new stadium but just not the financial backing and leadership to build up the franchise.

Clippers should have simply moved to Anaheim years ago instead of playing in the same house as the Lakers. For those who think OC is Lakers territory...it used to be Dodgers territory as well before the new millennium turned the Angels into an elite franchise. With the success of the Ducks, it gives OC fans every opportunity to cheer for another alternative in the Clippers.
