Posted Tuesday November 17, 2009, About: Capers: Cowboys offense 'one-dimensional'
I drafted the Packers D early in my Fantasy draft based on a strong preseason. I gotta tell you it has paid off. They have a strong secondary and have picked off a bunch of passes. They also have a bunch of sacks. Sure, they had a mulligan against the Bucs and unfortunately had to play the Vikes twice, but they've been pretty stout and very rewarding from a fantasy points perspective. The Packers are the dark horse of the NFC. If I'm the Vikes, I don't want to play them again come January. Capers and McCarthy won't lose to the Vikes 3 times. That's for sure.
Posted Monday November 16, 2009, About: Hall of Famers choose Manning over Brady
The argument of who is better than who is pretty pointless when considering....

1) Both are among the top 5 QB's to ever play the game. Its like trying to say that an apple is a better fruit than an orange....when in fact both are great, just different flavors.

2) Both are one and 2 respectively in touchdown passes thrown during a season, all time.

3) Both are one and 2 respectively in single season QB rating, all time.

4) Both have rings.

So lets enjoy them both and feel lucky we are witnessing the greatest QB era in the history of pro football.

Last nights game was about as exciting and nail biting as one gets. Considering the talent on both defenses, the fact that 700 combined passing yards were thrown last night is mindblowing. I hope these 2 teams meet again in the playoffs.
Posted Saturday November 14, 2009, About: Ochocinco fans mail mustard to Steelers
Die hard Pats fan here but I love Ochocinco. He brings a much needed light heartedness to the game. The NFL is way overly conservative. Without stuff like this, which I have to admit I laughed my **** off at, it would just be serious drama. Who wants that? Its a game people... and hes treating it like that....by having fun with it. Anyone who really gets annoyed by things like this really needs to loosen up a bit.
Posted Friday November 06, 2009, About: Porter: Patriots get special treatment
You are an idiot. In recent history, there are few QBs who have taken the punishment that Brady has in the pocket. No QB has taken more hits as the result of hanging in the pocket and stepping into a throw than he has. He will be remembered, not as a sissy, but as the guy who WOULD take the hit. We are talking one tough SOB here. Ever tear an ACL? Its one of the most unpleasant things anyone can go through. The surgery, the painful rehab..... If that happened to you, you'd be calling for the flag everytime someone came close to your legs. I saw the Suggs brush up against his leg. What you don't realize is if Suggs is 6 inches to the right, Brady goes out for another year. Some of you really need to think before you write your pointless thoughts.
Posted Wednesday October 21, 2009, About: Report: Vikings, Childress talking extension
Im willing to give Childress the benefit of the doubt here. Sure, we've seen teams get hot in Sept and Oct only to tank in Nov Dec. There is at least one every year. Sure, the Vikes may lose 2-4 games before the year is out but they will still be a solid playoff team and force to contend with. Their roster is just too strong to completely tank. I don't think Farve's arm is going to fall off. Farve has his best years when he's under the thumb of a good offensive coach. We saw it with Holmgren and McCarthy. People forget that before he was head coach, Childress was a stud offensive coordinator who got a lot out of Donovan McNabb. I'm pretty sure Childress is a big reason Farve is having a Pro Bowl year at age 40. He's also the reason why Farve won't tank...atleast in the regular season.

What I'm most concerned about is the Vikes secondary. That will be the reason why they eventually lose games. Lets face it. The Baltimore no-name receivers shredded them. Put the Vikes against either the Colts or the reborn Tom Brady led Pats and its a complete mismatch. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the year plays out.
Posted Monday October 19, 2009, About: Bucs' front office at odds?
Its what happens when you have parody in the NFL. This is an exact copy of the Mike Tomlin scenario. The black coaching market is largely untapped and that market is the wave of the future in NFL coaching. The big difference in this situation is Tomlin was vastly more experienced...actually having been a coordinator. Morris really never had a resume. You can also only strike gold so many times with young coaches. For every one that turns out to be a gem, there is one that tanks. Its too early to pass judgement on Morris. Six games with a less than desirable roster and really no great option at QB isn't a good measuring stick. Unfortunately they made a huge mistake in drafting Freeman and should have instead taken the best player available....of which there were many based on how many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounders this year are making an immediate impact. If they get first pick next year, odds are its Colt McCoy (They would be doomed with Tebow) and then you wasted something like the 18th pick on a backup QB.

The problem with the Bucs is they blew up the organization and replaced the parts with ones that are worse than what was there to begin with. The problem was never Gruden. He really never had a good QB to work with. The Bucs were usually a good QB away from a playoff run. Garcia, Griese, Gradkowski...etc. How many games would you expect to win with these guys at the helm? Odds are Dominic and Morris are gone at years end.
Posted Tuesday September 15, 2009, About: Bills' McKelvin would 'bring it out again'
My hat goes off to Buffalo. They played a heckuva game. However, they were given a couple of gifts during the game that helped sustain drives and improve field position. The first roughing the passer penalty in the end zone was bogus. Wilfork clearly went for the thighs and it wasn't a late hit. On the second one, the whistle blew as Edwards was in the process of being thrown down. Furthermore, the replay showed it clearly wasn't a violent pile driving into the turf. I absolutely hate the new rules protecting the QB. Let the guys play. Call it if its blatent but there are going to be way too many questionable calls this year that affect the outcome of games.

In the end the better team won the game. Where was the Bills D as Brady was picking them apart? This win was the result of playmakers making plays.....and NE just had more playmakers. The Merriweather strip was brilliant.....and yes he should have run it out. It would have eliminated the extra time out.

I don't think there is any doubt about Tom Brady after this game. 380 yds, 2 TDs, and an improbably comeback win should eliminate any talk of the knee.
Posted Friday September 11, 2009, About: Seymour likely won't play opener
This isn't about "bank". The guy has made around 40M for his career. The man and his family are set for life. To some of you people, money is everything. This guy just built a new home, his kids are in school, and his roots are in NE. I don't think it matters what team he gets traded to. He fully expected to retire a Patriot and remain in the area for the long haul. You heard it hear first. Richard Seymour will announce his retirement. I would put money on it. The guy is a 3 time Superbowl champ with a fat bank account. He has no reason to report to Oakland.
Posted Monday August 31, 2009, About: Why Bruschi decided to retire
What a class man who defines what a sportsman should be. He didn't have the size but he still became a dominate middle LB in the league.....due to hard work and smarts. Unfortunately he had to play in the same conference as Ray Lewis and Zack Thomas or he would have had more pro bowl nods. Mark my words. Tedy will be in the Hall of Fame someday. Definitely not as a modern candidate but in many years when he qualifies to be nominated by the senior committee, he'll get in.
Posted Monday August 31, 2009, About: Why Bruschi decided to retire
Idiot. The guy had a hole in his heart that was developing and passing clots.
Posted Thursday August 20, 2009, About: Marshall forcing his way out of Denver?
What a mess it is in Denver. Good point made before. Marshall is not dumb by any means. In McDaniel's spread it around dink/dunk short pass offense, he will be lucky to catch 50 for 500 yards....and that would be with a decent QB, which Orton is not. Any of you people would do the SAME EXACT THING by trying to get yourself on a bus out of town. This is the only big contract years he's ever going to have and he stands to lose millions by staying with that dysfunctional show in Denver. Character and honor generally go out the window when rest of your financial life is at stake. No one here would behave any better in this situation
Posted Monday August 17, 2009, About: Quinn leading Browns QB race
Putting Quinn in as the starter is a win-win situation for the Browns. If they tank this year with Quinn then they can look at next years draft which could be the best QB laden draft since 1983. You could see 4-5 QBs go in the top 20 next year. However, Quinn has really gotten an unfair shake in Cleveland. His go-to receiver drops so many balls I wouldn't trust him holding my carton of eggs at the grocery store. Look at the first preseason game...Quinn to Edwards...TOUCHDOWN!....oh wait....he dropped it...AGAIN!
Posted Sunday August 16, 2009, About: Leinart's backup status in danger?
I don't think this is about how much Leinart stinks but rather how far along Brian St Pierre has come. The dude can play, plain and simple. However Leinart came into the worst situation any QB could coming out of school.

1) He had to compete against Warner, one of the most accurate QBs in history, who with one more great season will punch his ticket to Canton for sure.

2) He came into an offense not suited to his abilities. He simply doesn't have the arm strength to fit into what has become a somewhat reduced version of the greatest show on turf.

3) Arizona never has had the run support that he enjoyed at USC. Its easy to be successful when you don't constantly have the pressure of 3rd and 10 on you. A common trait amongst a lot of successful NFL qbs is that they proved in college they could win with the game solely on their shoulders.
Posted Wednesday July 29, 2009, About: Redskins QB responds to Snyder's criticism
Snyder does own the team and in a way did give him a small vote of confidence.....which by accounts worked and inspired Cambell to put more effort into it. I have no problem with this. Aside from the Randy Moss pickup by the Pats, Haynesworth is the biggest player pickup by anyone in years. Nose tackle is one of the most important positions on both offensive and defensive sides of the ball. No one....NO ONE will be able to run on the skins and that alone will win about 2-3 more games. I like what the Skins have done this year and would bet they will take the 5th or 6th playoff seed.
Posted Wednesday July 22, 2009, About: Uncomfortable truth behind Winslow's infection
Once you contract staph is can become systemic and can affect many areas of the body. Testicles are very prone to stuff like this. Staph is NO joke and once contracted, it can be life threatening. So, lets stop with the immature STD and ball jokes. The needle used for draining anything is very large and most of you would cry like little girls if one of those came remotely close to your jewels. I didn't respect this guy very much until I read this blurb and the fact that he played with a staph infection makes me see this guy in a different light.
Posted Thursday June 11, 2009, About: McNabb close to new Eagles deal
To get back on topic here....if possible. D-mac deserves the extension. I honestly can't understand the negativity that has surrounded McNabb. After 10 years in the NFL his numbers are on par with what John Elway was at the same point. If he holds course, he will have a better completion percentage, better TD to Int ratio, and almost as many TD throws as Elway. Sure Elway won 2 superbowls but come on, he had the best O line in NFL history with arguably one of the best running games in NFL history. Elway could also stink it up on many occasions too. No one remembers those because of the 2 superbowl victories. I consider McNabb a successful postseason QB because he has always had his team in the thick of it at the end of games. This IS a team sport and it takes many working parts to reach a superbowl and win it. D-mac just has been missing those 1 or 2 key players to make it happen. With T.O. it was close but unfortunately they had the luck of playing the Pats. Still, that game nor any playoff games I've ever seen him in was a complete drubbing. So, cut the guy some slack. Even if he never wins the big one, with 5-6 more good years and almost 300 TDs, we are talking legitimate HOF consideration.
Posted Thursday June 04, 2009, About: Ryan: Patriots don't intimidate me
Sorry Rex, but the Ravens personnel were far superior to what you've been handed with the Jets. You need people to implement those great defenses of yours and you just don't have it. Those same defensive personnel gave up 31 points and 400 yards passing to Matt Cassell in the last meeting. Just imagine what a 100% Tom Brady is going to do. The offensive side of the ball is in even worse shape. People seem to forget that Mark Sanchez got his **** handed to him by the immortal Oregon St last year and really didn't play in any kind of impressive fashion until the bowl game. Great move in giving up picks to shore up other positions to get a guy who's resume could fit on the back of a postage stamp. Keep running your mouth Rex. I can't wait to see the expression on your face when the score is 52-7 when the whistle blows at the end of the first Pats/Jets game. This of course will be after Sanchez throws 5 picks and Randy Moss has 4 receiving TDs. If there was a Superbowl for talking Rex, you'd win. However until there is one, shut up and deliver some wins before you start running your rookie head coach mouth.
Posted Thursday March 05, 2009, About: Terrell Owens to Oakland?
New England. Can you imagine that?????? Welker, Moss, & T.O? Brady will throw for 100 TDs next year. Belichick is the only coach in football that can handle T.O. Look what he did to Moss. Moss is the picture perfect teammate.
Posted Friday January 30, 2009, About: Why Patriots won't franchise Cassel
Old and Fragile? 31 is prime for a QB. Take a look at the hits Brady has taken over his career with no ill effect and then tell me he is fragile. If any of you had taken that shot to the leg he took this season, you'd suffer the same injury if not worse. Fragile has nothing to do with it.

Back on topic. The Pats WILL franchise Cassel. If they don't, he will leave and they will get nothing in return. The QB market is thin and that is being made worse by an extremely pathetic QB crop in this years draft. With so many teams weak at QB, there is no way a good trade offer for Cassel isnt made. Its only a bad decision to franchise Cassel if there is no chance of a trade offer. However, at least 10 teams will be lining up with lucrative offers. The Pats need defensive help and franchising/trading Cassel could get them 2 quality starters either in the draft or via a traded player (s).
Posted Friday January 09, 2009, About: Broncos vets to have say in new coach?
First of all, Kyle Brady isnt the type of player who should be commenting on anything. Hes a journeyman who would surprise me if he was still on the team next year. McDaniels is 32 but how can you not respect a guy who led the single greatest offensive season a team has had in history. Pat Bowlen needs to get a his head out of his ****. If your team is worth hundreds of millions, you don't let the grunts choose your coach.
Posted Wednesday December 03, 2008, About: Carson: Giants should bring Plaxico back
Plax broke the law...period. He deserves anything thats coming to him. Furthermore, hes an idiot and Harry Carson is an idiot for backing him up. The gun in question wasn't holstered and was just shoved down his pants gangsta style. It wasn't registered and the safety wasn't even on. If that gun is pointed in any other direction, someone innocent gets hurt or even killed. Not only do I feel he deserves to be cut but he definately deserves every bit of the 3.5 years in jail that is mandatory under NY law. Bye Bye Plax. Your rectum will never be the same.
