I would agree. Just because they have lost 3 games doesn't mean hit the panic button. The NBA has a variety of talented teams, so BOS is going to lose some games. Now, I would say losing to the Pacers might sting a little bit, but you aren't going to win them all. I would say keep the main guys healthy and happy to prepare for the playoffs. Boston will win 60+ games and be a top seed in the east - if they stay healthy.

One thing that hurts right now is Big Baby being out. When he gets back - they'll be tough to beat.

Depends really. Are they going to allow him to play more than 20-25 min a game the first 70 games of the season? Then no, he'll miss some games. I don't expect him to play in many back-to-back nights either. This is one reason they got Sheed. Sheed isn't gonna play 30 min either. He just needs 20 minutes to take the load of the bigs. Big Baby will be the 30 min a night guy - provided he plays the way he did 2nd half last season. My question STILL revolves around Ray and Pierce. Can BOS win with those guys playing 30-35 min a night? Maybe, but for how long. For BOS to have a chance the Big 3 + Sheed need to be playing 25-30 min a night with long stretches of rest (like Jazz did with Stockton/Malone).

I think the Celtics should give him a luke-warm send off for helping them win the '84 title. Thanks for getting up and fighting back Kurt!

Here is an idea: They didn't resign him right away, because they know that they could match ANY offer he would receive. In the mean time, they add more depth to roster etc. Then they sign him. Its all a dollars game. If they would've resigned Big Baby right away, they wouldn't have been able to sign Williams for example (if I am not mistaken on the whole salary cap thing etc). So, the signed Williams first because we was a true FA. Now they'll sign Big Baby, although he'll get less than what he thinks he deserves. Hit some 3's this year, play some D and get some boards. Those last two things will get you a pay day......maybe.

correction - the two players he was referring two were NOT Manny....

supposedly, none of those players from that test can be punished....
Posted Friday July 31, 2009, About: Are Red Sox championships tainted?
wow, someone else "cheated".......if 70% or more of players in the league cheated then EVERY CHAMPIONSHIP in MLB in this whole era is tainted. Colin Cowherd of ESPN radio stated yesterday he is aware of 2 Dodgers that juiced that still play and 1 of'em aint Manny.

Considering the **** had guys in the 90s juicing I don't hear **** fans saying those titles are tainted....or white sox, cardinals, marlins, phillies etc etc

If AI wasn't a heartache for everyone, he would be nice to have on the floor with: not the "Big 5" and just let him play 15-20 min and score some points. Adding AI to the mix makes "video game" sense, because you don't have to deal with feelings, guns in the car, locker room drama etc etc.

LMAO - if they bring in AI, then they have to bring back Marbury. Agreed on that one.

Okay - ESPN clarified what he meant on page 2....I am the moran for blasting him so quickly (LOL now) as I didn't see it. ESPN thought I was talking about RAY Allen, not TONY ALLEN. He realized his mistake - so, it's all good. I figured if anyone has followed the C's, they TA's history. Productive when healthy, but can't count on him is always be the 7-8th man off the bench.

"This is one of the most durable gaurds that's played." you moran....keep reading.

You are the ignorant one. Yes, I have reviewed Tony Allen's history. I want to make one thing clear about him 1st, when he is healthy he is great. He was supposed to "replace" James Posey's minutes last season, thus backing up Pierce. I think he is a great player, when healthy.

You showed your ignorance when you said, "The guy has been as durable a player you can find, in the NBA." HAVE YOU REVIEWED HIS NBA HISTORY?!?! He only played 51 games in '06, 33 in '07, 46 in '09!!! He has TWO seasons (out of five) of playing 75 games. Having someone that has only played 68% of their regular season games is NOT durable!!! 70-75+ games plus is pretty durable, considering his injury history. I suppose Bill Walton was "durable" too.

Look, the guy has potential, if he can stay healthy. He is a perfect backup for Pierce considering everyone else on their team. He HAS to stay healthy though. He avg 19 min/game for his career and 7.4 points per game. Nothing great, but considering be plays DEF, is on the C's, we aren't asking for anything more than this. The key is his 19-20 min a game. If Pierce only played 28-30 min a game (and we win) because Allen was healthy - Pierce would get some rest.

Even if I was mega rich, I wouldn't drop 2 million on a wedding.....what for? I can think of some uber-nice weddings I've been to and in, and they weren't more than 50-75k. Heck you can get married in Disney World for 25k. What do you get for 2 million?

What a man for waiting until the last hour. I hope you blow out both of your knees this year. FYI NBA Dancers only make like $50/game. A friend of mine was one for the Pacers - she said it was lots of work for minimal pay.

I am sure the C's realize that after Powe and KG got hurt, productive big man are a nice luxury to have around. Obviously signing Sheed will help and given Perkins has a shoulder injury that flares up from time to time, Big Baby is a perfect sub off the bench for Boston. He'll still get TONS of minutes in BOS - as much or more than any other team could offer him. BOS will limit the big 4s minutes as much as possible to minimize injury potential. I still see him playing 25-30 min a game in Boston, especially now that he is expanding to 3-point range.

My question is who does BOS really have to back up the 1,2, and 3 spots besides Eddie House? Allen is always hurt.
Posted Tuesday June 30, 2009, About: Celtics to make 'Big Baby' offer
I think Leon is a cheap re-sign. He has been hurt so much in his career - who would roll the dice on someone with so many injuries. Boston needs to resign House and I am sure they will. We still don't have a big man backing up Perkins. I agree, we need someone that can block shots and get boards off the bench.

We still don't have a Posey replacement though! No bench player that can play perimeter D AND hit spot up jumpers. Boston still needs 1 more signing with someone that can contribute rather it be a big man or perimeter player. Marbury gonna stay? If he has a whole season to play with them now and work out all summer knowing he'll get some PT - he could contribute in a big way this next year - such a crap shoot with him and I don't think this season is a fair assessment of him.
Posted Friday June 26, 2009, About: Ainge:"I'm not trading Rondo"
Everyone is immature to some degree when they come into the league. He'll improve the leadership. He is too talented a player to not improve in that area especially with Doc, KG, Paul, Ray etc all around him. He isn't a punk like Iverson or someone else so he has the ability - he just has to mature and WANT to be a leader. Will he be the greatest leadership PG ever? I doubt it. Will he be a top 5 PG over the next 10 years if he works his tail off, let alone develops an 18 footer? Probably. Why would you trade him?

The DET trade made PERFECT sense for Boston and that would be the only reason to trade him is for that deal or something similar. Boston obviously needs a PG if they trade Rondo. If they trade Ray, they need another starter as well. Stucky and Rip aren't Rondo and Ray, but with Prince in that deal, that would've been awesome because it gives Boston someone that can play on the perimeter in the SF - something they don't have since Posey left.

With that said - they won't get equal talent for Ray and Rondo. Boston needs to get healthy, resign Big Baby because he'll give KG tons of rest this next year, and they need to sign someone that can replace what Posey did in order to give Paul some rest too. They get someone to replace Posey's scoring threat he had + DEF, the Big 3 get rest because Rondo and Big Baby can play some mintutes and score.
Posted Wednesday June 17, 2009, About: Why NBA won't hire Laimbeer
Keep in mind that when you are viewed as a total ****hole as a player for your entire career, why would things be different just because you are a coach? That is why nobody wants him. Unlike his buddy Isiah, who won a few more awards as a player, at least he was given a a chance. However, how has that been working out for him lately?
Posted Thursday May 28, 2009, About: Jackson rips NBA's fine process
Big shocker, Whenever Phil faces "adversity" in the playoffs he takes a 20-50k fine for the team and then magically they win the next game in the series. he did this with the Bulls too - let's not forget that people. Right before game 7 against Portland as well.....

Thank goodness. He is talented, but at the same time he is such a waste of air. Chalk his team play up there with T.O.

Blind in one eye I meant.
Posted Friday May 22, 2009, About: Doctor cautious with Amare's eye
Agreed - Not worth being blind in one eye just play basketball a little sooner. He is only 26. If I already had millions, I wouldn't risk being blind for a few million more. The last thing this is about is money (for Amare at least), this is about the next 60 years of your life.
Posted Thursday May 21, 2009, About: Clippers considering Rubio?
The #1 rule of drafting in the NBA is: DRAFT THE BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE TO YOU REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE!!! Clippers are RETARDED if they don't draft Griffin. Trade the other over-paid garbage players or RELEASE them. Who cares if they count against for a couple of seasons!?!?! Develop the guys you have over next couple of season then when those garbage contracts expire - now you have FA money! Gosh, package Griffin and Randolph/Davis together for a young established stud. Some team will bite on that.

Shesh, I should be a GM.
