Posted Thursday May 28, 2009, About: Tarkenton: Favre's despicable
If he can play and the Vikings want him then who cares. Brett Favre is Brett Favre and he's going to do what he wants to do, he has that right. Just like the Vikings are the Vikings and they can do what they want to do. Really? A tarkenton nitschke reference? Tark's gets to have his opinion to, but a "back in my day" complaint just makes him sound even older. This is the NFL of the middle ages, things are different now. Frans NFL vanished years ago, If he doesn't like the way things are done now, I'm sure Steve Sabol can hook him up with some of his old NFL footage for him to pop in and show the kiddies every time they visit so he can start spitting out the sentence he'll be spitting out for the rest of his last days... "You say that, back in my day we didn't need agents, you spit in your hand, the owner did the same, you'd shake hands and invite him over for a steak and a Pabst." Leave the guy alone, he's paid his dues. If your sick of the story, don't open your stupid old decrepit mouth and feed the fire.

Stan is the black sheep 'O the family. Worst coach of all time, just ask Pat "the legend" Riley who had to step up and boot stans clown ass out and at the same time build yet another championship team, not caring about some third rate coach. Stan Van Gundy? He should be thanking Jeff Van Gundy for allowing him to ride his coat tails. Long story short and the bottom line, Nobody respects or wants Stan because he's not a good coach. Never has been, never will be. He's a flat out loser.

Any team, that when experimenting, trades away proven winner and leader chauncy billups, is about as good at experimenting as Glen Davis is being a lover of salads.

Alright, who let this guy out of his cage? Put him back in and give him a chew toy before he hurts himself. You know it is possible to turn the caps lock off once you've you turned it on. It's not just a one way street. Try it out sometime, it's not half bad and it won't make you look like an ape that's mashing away at a keyboard.

Dear grade-A champion wuss bags complaining about trash talk,

Get over it. Do you think if Lisa Leslie or Candace Parker were to trash talk a smaller player in a WNBA game anyone would care or complain about it? No effing way, not in a million years. People whining about trash talk should just stop watching sports altogether and take up knitting because trash talking isn't going anywhere in any sport, no matter how big or small you are. No sport needs or wants whiny, pansy arse fans like you guys. Go away, stop caring about sports and enjoy "paint your nails night" on sundays and "maybelline makeover night" on mondays. You'll probably avoid trash talking there.

Absolutely spot on response. Any fool can try and back up a lame duck story by citing such reliable and trustworthy sources as a nameless executive and "multiple teams". Ridiculous "article". The sheer length of it shows how much this is an insane non-story to write about. There's nothing to say. This is a mans game not a youth league at the Y. Players get in each others faces no matter what they're size is. Look at Nate Robinson, A.I. or Isiah Thomas back in the day. Those guys never complained about being bullied, they manned up and got right back in the other players faces and earned respect from their teammates, fans and other players as well, as man with a "come get some" attitude not a "mommy that mans being mean to me" attitude. Garnett's reputation is set in stone as a class act, an intense player, great team player and a great motivator. A nameless award winning reporter and several reputable sources say that whoever decided to post and write this garbage is a fool and should give up reporting forever. Readers and editors have taken notice.

My only goal with that last post was to see if at least one of you meat heads would keep this thread going. So congrats to you meat head, you're the big winner. You MMA lackeys never cease to amaze me. They really need to put you fellas in the zoo for everyone to observe. You guys really do and always will dwell at the bottom of the intelligence food chain. Say hello to Dan Quayle and G-Dubb jr. while you're down there for me.

I love it, keep 'em comin' fellas :-) your comments bounce off me like ping pong balls, which ironically is what is in your heads. MMA is a joke and I feel it's my civic duty to make this fact known as often as I can by any means necessary til' the end of time, which for MMA shouldn't be all that long). Say what you will, but someones gotta step up to the plate and do it. I feel like Charlton Heston in planet of the apes when I post on this forum. Don't worry, even apes and sad sacs like you guys will eventually evolve. But until then, keep picking fleas off each others backs and don't give up on trying to push that square block into the hole shaped like a circle. You guys are a hoot. No wonder you slurp MMA like it was milk shake, it's all you've ever known. Anywho, I got's to go. I'm going to start work on my next dissertation. I think I'll call it, "Why people who watch MMA shouldn't procreate."

I agree. The dude is a slow spreading cancer or the guy at the party who's cool and fun to hang out with at first but at the end of the night he turns into a guy who just got his degree in ****-baggery at **** university. Go away Manny. THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!

Your 4 year old sounds like a genius. You could really learn something from him or her, so take notes whenever you can. You have a problem with what I have to say? Maybe you should move on, because I'm not going anywhere. Nice job figuring out that little scenario of yours though, but you should really use your powers for good and not waste them on being an idiot.

First off it was 5pm in Singapore, where I am and was when I wrote that message (yes there are other time zones other than your own, crazy huh? Don't think to hard, you might hurt yourself). Second, I never even mentioned boxing, so that's an issue you're going to have to deal with on your own time. And third, MMA IS what I consider as fighting, I just don't consider it a sport, at all, in any way. I've seen some pretty decent brawls in person that look and play out exactly like an MMA fight does and I wouldn't consider anyone I saw fighting, "world class athletes", just world class idiots. Doing it for a career pretty much shows everybody what your options are in life. I'll consider it a sport when colleges start offering scholarships for guys to be on their MMA team, which they never will and even if they did, I lied, I still wouldn't consider it a sport. What a joke you guys are. I love reading all the ignorant and brain dead things you guys spit out. I'll post all day and night long on this blog if it only means I get to hear from whiners and creampuffs like you boo-hoo'ing for people to respect MMA. I'll leave a ****ing thesis on this crap if I want to. I don't like the sport, don't respect it and can't wait to see it fail. So I'll keep on keepin' on and read and post on this blog whenever I see fit. Don't think I have a life? Cool, Go with that, I could care less what you think, I just like seeing how you try to formulate an argument or a sentence for that matter. Like most MMA fighters and their fans, you guys don't really have the capacity to think all that much anyway. Kudos on you guys inventing the wheel though, I'll at least give you that much.

who's trying to make a point? Just stating the facts on obvious. Don't like the length? Maybe just skip over it and don't read it next time. ND blows and their fans, players, coaches etc. are perpetual whiners, complainers and excuse artists and I love pointing it out anytime I can and as often as I can. Don't like it? Perfect, that's what I'm goin' for. If I was trying to make a point, however, you're the kind of person that would make doing so as easy as pie. Your program is dead and not the Lazarus raising from the dead kind either, dead as a door nail dead. Deal with it and stop trying to fool yourself. The world will be a better place because of it.

easy does it fella, you're going to give yourself a stroke and not be able to whine about your precious irish anymore and I'll have nobody laugh myself to sleep about. maybe calm down a little bit huh? If you don't care about rudy or what I have to say, than shut your hole and don't say anything back. Everyone knows the entire team, first, second, third whatever, are a bunch of grade A scrubs. As far as that rudy article, all I have to say is it's not surprising how easy it is to stumble across articles on the internet or even in a news paper about how much of a fraud notre dame football is and all of there no skilled players and coaches. And you obviously were in a panicked rage when you read my message because I never said LT rubbed in snapping theismans leg in two. Not once...

"Just about as much as I love watching the clip of Lawrence "LT" Taylor snapping that cry baby theismans leg in half like it was a Slim Jim and Lawrence Taylor was The Macho Man Randy Savage."

.....I said I love watching it. Me. Not LT. Learn how to read something completely and maybe you won't make a fool of yourself all the time. And by all the time I mean every waking moment of your ND slurping life. In recap,

Notre Dame Sucks
Rudy sucks
You suck at life

maybe just stick to the whole "rubbing in of the 15 year win streak" and not even try to gloat or even mention a win over Navy. Good job on your part though as being another lame ND fan offering an excuse to a loss or as to why a game over a lesser team ,on paper, was to close........."even tho if not for the scrubs coming in early in the 4th it would have been much greater"..........Much greater? Really? Like last year? At Notre Dame? Riiiiiiiight. Let me know how the smokes are in that alternate universe you and your fellow golden domers live in. I've got news for you, ND's entire team is scrubs. And next year, when the 2nd team you referred to as "scrubs" are starting, the team will be scrubs again. It's like a beautiful never ending loop of perpetual losing and whining and making excuses. I love it. Just about as much as I love watching the clip of Lawrence "LT" Taylor snapping that cry baby theismans leg in half like it was a Slim Jim and Lawrence Taylor was The Macho Man Randy Savage. "OH YEEEAHHHH, SNAP INTO IT!"

I'm excited that your response to my comment was your first comment that didn't include you talking about such insightful topics such as "blue balls" and "drunken orgies". .....Much like the road that MMA UFC will eventually go down. Not a sport, but a once kind of popular and sometimes interesting fad. Only to be referred to in the same kind of conversations that include things like the XFL or the USFL or maybe even roller derby and trampoline Slamball. Wait that's not fair, I'm sorry. Slamball is still around and is actually fun to watch for longer that a minute. Enjoy your "sport" while it lasts. I expect I'll hear some more hype of another "biggest fight ever" fight when Tyson decides to try MMA out or they add a Senior League and Foreman shows up and puts a beat down on the Ultimate Warrior. Geez, where is Andre the Giant when you need him.

......Talk about miscasting and the worst case of a false nickname. Not to mention almost all of these battles involves the annoying guy from fear factor or Dana White living in denial or an "awesome" or "crazy insane fight" with White's proclaimed "Best athletes and fighters in the world" laying on there back for the entire fight while one of the two fighters gets a smelly sac in his face and thick coating of man juice all over him before he taps out. Or all of those which is pretty much always the case. A good example as to how much of a sport this "sport" is can be seen on ESPN.com Try to find the tab to get to the MMA homepage. It's not even in the second bar of tabbed sports like SI.com so graciously put MMA. As a matter of fact, MMA doesn't even have a tab on ESPN.com it's the More+ drop down link in the very last spot of the second row tabs. And when you drop that More+ tab link down where can you find MMA? Behind powerhouse sports like the AFL, The Breeders Cup and the Tour De France. And sneaking in just ahead of the WNBA, Poker and Cricket. Obviously a highly respected sport. And for those of you that are grasping for straws and are going to say Si is better at what they do than ESPN, you can go right ahead. I'll go watch the Couture vs Lesner highlights later on tonight on the 24 hour CNNSi sports channel. Whooops, my bad, I forgot. They tried to do that once and nobody cared or watched it and they canceled the ENTIRE CHANNEL.....

UFC and MMA are a joke. All they ever have is hype and it always comes from outside, non-fighting hype. Like the "ICEMAN". People started watching when they realized he existed after he appeared on entourage. People started watching after getting hyped up by an American Idol UFC version reality show. Oh wait, here comes somebody interesting finally, Kimbo Slice, let's watch. Not part of UFC of course, but how many millions started paying attention after all the hype and build up. Wait, here comes Brock Lesner vs Old man time... "Biggest UFC fight ever!" Biggest? Really? How long has Lesner been fighting? What's his record? 2 and 1? I'm nt positive, but clearly his record is "Best Fight Ever" material. The only reason anyone will watch this fight is once again because of Lesner's WWF (or E, whatever you want to call it) past. Or the fact that Couture, being so old, could quite possibly explode like the planet krypton if he gets hit hard enough. Other than the hype fights there is no reason to watch. Even in the "hype fights", it never lives up to anything more than maybe, MAYBE, a minute or 2 of fighting. Case in point, "ICEMAN vs RAMPAGE!" another biggest fight in UFC MMA history, that lasted just about as long as a snowman living on the sun. People tuned in to see the ICEMAN fresh off his entourage status....
