I like the Jets winning the draft & landing Seth Jones because if they'd then go and get Iginla they could have all of the black or mulato players in the league playing in probably the whitest city in north america. Hooray for cultural diversity
(and yes, I know there is a large contingent of native americans in winnipeg).
I'm gunning for the repeat. In a 48 games season the stretch will feature an 8 team pile up right around the cutoff line, I'm surprised that nobody's picked the last day. I could very well see this coming down to a series of 'if this team wins, and that team goes to overtime, and if these guys don't show up' type scenario that will see some teams stay home and others go to the tournament.
Exactly, he's in the entertainment biz. The people paying him don't give a damn how good or bad his picks are, plus, over time they even out. More importantly though, is that I don't really give a damn who he picks because (a) betting on football is for idiots, and (b) I'm not an idiot (although some of you might contest that point).
right isn't bringing much to the table, but left's point is basically that a salaried talking head didn't have a good week. If you look at his body of work, I doubt he's significantly worse than anybody else doing the same type of job...
I never really saw any of the chiefs or their coaching staff boasting how they were gonne win it all...not to mention that they don't have incredibly annoying fanbases.
How anybody can make the argument that the eagles had a reasonable expectation of winning the superbowl is a mystery to me. In fact, anyone that had the iggles top 10 should really give their head a scratch.
who expected ANYTHING from the 49ers? Perennial basement team that is managing to have a pretty decent season. Last I checked nobody has them going to the super bowl.
Meanwhile the cowboys are an average team & have been that way for a LONG time, but we get to hear about them non-stop & any time Tony Romo doesn't completely suck we get treated to analysts talking about him as an elite QB. Romo sucks, the Cowboys suck. Most overrated team in America by far.
except that one backstops a pretty average (at best) team, while they other receives 10 million to park himself in the net and stink up the joint. Luongo has to be one of the worst technical goaltenders I've ever seen...he can't even t-push from the top of his crease to his post without falling over and doing an imitation of a beahced whale.
