he was on a top chef episode recently that had did a tailgate contest with the contestants. one of the chefs was telling the fridge that he was honored to meet him. the fridge, not kidding at all here, said "yeah, yeah, whatever, what you got for food here?". haha.

forgot to mention....the tailgate was outside the bears' stadium...the fridge and another bear alumni were guest judges. i'll be damned if that guy didn't eat everything and quickly.

Flyers will not get him. Two reasons: 1. cap 2. Marty Biron doesn't like Campbell. I'm sure you can add R.J. Umberger to the anti-soup campaign.

can the flyers stop stealing sabres players? their 09 team is looking more and more like the sabres old team...and yet they still cant win a cup. flyers will never relive their glory days.

mccartney24 | 05/24/08, 02:59 A

He plays (played) for San Jose. Your team, assuming it's the Sabres, parted ways already with him. Sign your talent and no one will steal your success. Whammy.

It's so nice to see the tables turn and the egos disappearing. Bye bye Pens. I still think Pittsburgh manages to win a game or two. Detroit in 5 or 6. Sadly, I thought I hated Detroit (from the whooping they put on Philly back in '97), but that was a different team. This Detroit team is impressive and, most importantly, put the hurt on Philly enemy #1 in my eyes. Not this year Sid.

The pens can do whatever they want....like score a goal that is not a goal. Face the music, the Pens are a much better team than the Cryers! Carey Price was a sieve in the net for les Habs and now you've got a real goaltender to face. Quit you're cryin and play some hockey...hell, you've got at least 2 more games before we eliminate you.

LetsGoPens |

Wow...you're cool. I like how you totally twisted the Flyers into the Cryers based on the fact they rhyme. Wow, you did it. You're awesome. I like how you manage to COMPLAIN while rubbing it in. Your Pens got the luckiest break....had Coburn and Timonen been able to play this series would be far from the way it is. Trust me, your goaltender hasn't been tested. Half the shots thrown at him were beyond the circles. Richards made him look stupid. The Flyers need to generate some offense on this guy. I'm not convinced he's been tested. The Flyers just don't look like the team that won the past two series. Timonen/Coburn or not, they need to get it going.

Upshall may be throwing his weight around, but Kennedy kicked his a##...and he's our smallest player!
LetsGoPens | 05/13/08, 09:24 A

You mean that midget looking thing that looks like a mongoloid Crosby? Upshall didn't get his butt kicked. That was nothing more than a girl spar. Give it a break, don't be a moron.
Posted Tuesday May 13, 2008, About: Crosby questions 'no-goal' call
It was a goal, but there was nothing that actually physically showed evidence of a goal. Only a moron thought otherwise.....there's just loopholes like this. Had the ref called that a goal...video replay would given the Pens a lead. Simply put: the video replay was inconclusive to physically show the puck crossing the line. Biron gets mad credit for doing what he did.

This is a travesty. I could careless about the football part...really...but the concerning part was how you misspelled Kool-Aid. You're lucky the big red man hasn't knocked down your wall with a "OH YEEEEEEEAAAAH!". Truly a sad day.

Also, no one can deny that a Detroit - Penguins final would be a dream come true for the NHL. It would generate enormous interest and a high level of exposure ..... which translates to a cash bonanza for the league! Kah ching! Kah ching!

Something tells me that a majority of people still won't care. I can see someone from the NBA, NFL, or MLB coming out with something huge and completely overlapping the Cup finals. Assuredly, it would something of the steroids nature for all the media nuts to clamor on about. It's sad, but unfortunately true. What the NHL needs to do is find a place back on ESPN and get more notice on the basic channels. Or a website devoted to helping people find where and what Versus is.
Posted Saturday May 10, 2008, About: League's next big star will be in Dallas
Referring to the bickering of conspiracy of reffing in the NHL, I'm a Flyers fan and see none. Pittsburgh will beat Philadelphia because Philadelphia has nothing that can compare to BOTH Crosby and Malkin....not because of diving or bad calls. I don't think Philadelphia is far off from Pittsburgh in terms of fielding a top 5 or 10 Eastern team.

The reffing hasn't been good or great at all in most of the games I've watched....but these refs aren't robots either. They will make mistakes and ultimately cause a game to tilt, but I don't see how you can expect a ref to SEE everything. Four refs...basically two...keeping an eye on 10 players at only the angles they are at. Things are bound to be missed and overlooked at different angles, positions, etc.

Conspiracy, no. It is what it is.
Posted Saturday May 10, 2008, About: League's next big star will be in Dallas
I remember the last "best player not in the NHL" and the Flyers signed him. His name? Jiri Dopita. It was Flyer's goaltender Roman Cechmanek's best friend. Can anyone guess where both of them are now...and shortly after a few seasons? Not in the NHL.

Brunnstrom has some work to do. Elite league over in Europe isn't the NHL. Less space and more physical contact. Let's see what the kid can do before we clamor upon his genitals...shall we?

Unless it's a cheap shot contest then the Flyers might stand a chance.

Wow, you're hilarious AND brilliant. If I had your comedy routine, I'd be a regular Seinfeld. Brilliant....hilarious. The Flyers aren't overrated moron. No one has given them a chance in any of the series they have played in. And they aren't rated to win this one either....so explain how they are rated highly? Barely anyone know the names of Umberger, Carter, and Coburn outside of intelligent hockey circles. Mediocre? They're where are now because they prevailed.....hate or dislike them fine...but at least make an intelligent attempt to bring down a team. You're comments are far fetched and unfounded...easily overly dramatic. Man, what a joke.
Posted Thursday May 08, 2008, About: Therrien-Stevens tensions continue
Flyers lost Timonen today to blood clot....now we're in trouble. Our for the series. The match ups on Crosby and Malkin are going to be horrendous. Odds are Flyers insert Jaroslav Modry (gag). Dark horse is Ryan Parent....but I guarantee Stevens goes with experience. This may have just tumbled the series into Pens' hands. Flyers are going to need unbelievable efforts from the D and Biron. The power play is now lacking a bit. Ouch.

philly fans i hope you are ready for ANOTHER let down (you's should be used to it by now). thats what philly teams do best! check out USA Today's article about philly teams and how they havent won a championship in 25 years( kinda sad when you think about it). dont get excited, because none of philly's teams are bringing home a championship anytime soon. pitt in 6

GO PENS

eaxel769 | 05/08/08, 02:19 PM

why do people post things like this? if i had typed this, i would feel like i shorted the world an intelligent comment. i say the same thing about some of the philadelphia banter on here. i'll start with this comment. Just because a team hasn't won in 25 years, doesn't mean destiny will surely happen. This is the Eastern Conference finals my dear moronic friend. funny....philadelphia has the most recent eastern conference final victory and the most recent appearance, other than this one, in the east finals. our teams are also tied in cup victories....so, i'd hate to ruin your USA TODAY article by assuring you the flyers won't just bail out due historical references. none of philly's team are close to winning? i just wouldn't post something stupid like this when the pittsburgh pirates are from my town. simple as that.

this series is going to be a good one. accept it for that. philadelphia, nor pittsburgh will sweep this series. i'm looking at a good 6 or 7 game series here. if pittsburgh gives into a slow, grinding game philadelphia has every reason to believe they can win. biron will need to continue his heroics. the flyers, most importantly, needs to stay out of the penalty box. there is a formula for beating pittsburgh, just as there is a formula for beating philadelphia. i'd be lying if i said the penguins don't worry me, but i'd also be lying if i said i felt that the flyers don't have a chance in hell.
Posted Tuesday May 06, 2008, About: Canadiens quotes irk Flyer
Just because Fleury had good numbers against a lifeless Senators team (lacking a healthy Alfie) and the Rangers, doesn't mean his numbers carry on. New team, new play type. Say the Flyers get the bounces all you want, I'm fine with that. The hockey gods obviously are smiling in Philly for the first time since 1997 (they later stopped in Game 1 of the Cup). As I have been saying, the opponents can continue to score 2 pretty goals all they want so long as the Flyers can score 3 to 4 ugly ones. I wasn't aware an ugly goal was worth less than the prettier ones. I myself have doubts the Flyers can win, but that comes easy when you've live or lived in Philly. The Flyers have just as good of a chance if they stay out of the box and Biron stays hot. Philly has managed to get as far as they have so obviously they aren't going to be trampled on. Timonen/Coburn on Crosby/Malkin is going to be a key. Lay down the numbers, facts, or whatever else you have....numbers change. If numbers told the tails, Philly would have been swept by Montreal. I do think Philly is being a tad bit underrated as well. Umberger has been outstanding. Carter/Richards have been awesome. Biron even better. This will be a good series that will go 6 to 7. No use being cocky, these teams are where they're at because they've played well enough to win.
Posted Saturday May 03, 2008, About: Forsberg hints at retirement
Both groin muscles are torn, you skated 7 games for 1 million bucks. You're done Peter. Hang the blades up. Go back to your super model girlfriend, Crocs, golf course venture, airline venture, and Team Modo. Give the body some rest...you're only 34...skate for Modo after a couple of years off or something.

The only thing that is seriously arrogant is that Forsberg is giving the same "so, we'll see how it goes for next year" number. That's unfair to Avalanche management, fans, and himself. You gave it a shot, but you still aren't even close to 50% healed. Just retire man. Great player, but the epic legacy from the Cup days are gone.

DirtyRoster | 04/05/08, 08:35 PM

This is a dumb comment in it's own. I can understand saying a team sucks because of logical reasons. Like saying the Phillies suck because their bullpen/pitching continues to be questionable against the likes of the Braves or Mets. However, you claim the Phillies suck because of their fans. I don't see how Philly fans could be the worst in the world. We/they still show up during losing seasons, we support our teams, and we're passionate. We don't disappear when the going gets tough. Nothing wrong with that. Perhaps we should start clapping like maniacs for mediocrity? Standing o's for hitting into a game ending double play or missing a wide open net with 2 seconds to play? Sorry, but that's just stupid. They/us might be a bit on the wild side, but come on, it's sports. We haven't won a title in awhile and we're just as passionate as any athlete about having our city name on the trophy. I don't get your perspective I guess. We don't believe in the "aww shucks, maybe in ten years" mentality. We want results and we want to see passion and desire. And don't even start with the Irvin or Santa talk. Especially the Santa talk. That's decades ago. Literally. Every professional sports team has some idiot or idiots who do stupid things. Sorry Philly didn't embrace you as God himself when you came in wearing the opponent's jersey. Were you expecting a gift basket with expensive cheeses and soaps? I also don't get how Philly sports suck. The Flyers and Eagles have made the playoffs almost every year for awhile. The Phillies have turned around their roster. Rollins, Utley, and Howard make up an impressive infield. Imagine if Rolen, still in his prime, was on 3B. The Phillies are heading in the right direction. The Sixers are also showing promise. Philly sports are always competitive and so are their fans. Your intelligence and prowess showed true in that comment. Good luck when you jump on your next bandwagon.
