You mean he'll pick friends that won't rat him out?
I can't feel sorry for anyone involved in dog fighting and have a hard time believing that a person who's character orients them in that direction has any concern for anyone but themselves. What does race have to do with it? You commit a crime and get caught you go to jail. Simple as that. Whether the NFL wants to re-instate him thats for theleague to decide. Depends on whether the league wants to be seen as a league of convicted felons or not. Pete Rose was banned from baseball for life for his sins. Didn't hear anyone claiming racism there.
