They drafted Rivers before Brees
had that breakout year.

The year before, I think the Chargers
had maybe 2 or 3 wins? I thought that
was Eli's reason for not going there,
but have since heard it was because of
the lack of support SD gave to Ryan Leaf
which didn't help his development.

Manning clan didn't want to take a
chance on Eli being screwed over too.

Eli and Ben both won with top defenses.

Ben's first SB was the worst QB performance
in SB history. Trent Dilfer had to be smiling.
And his second one required
a 100 yd int return and an unbelievable
catch on a borderline bad throw.

cuz that's exactly what I was going to say.

I think it was a three month deal on the table but he was sooooo afraid
of ANY jail time that he took his chances and is crying now.

This could have been water under the bridge with him just
waiting out a league suspension before taking the field
as a NY Giant.

He even sounds like an idiotic moron when he talks.
Both his voice and what he says.

An owner would have to consider fans
being harassed by PETA idiots and beef
up security to not take any of their crap.

Vick did pay his dept and deserves
the right to a second chance, IMHO.

That being said, his first chance wasn't
all that great.

He's an overrated football entertainer.
He's not a full fledged QB, Rb or WR.
He'a a little of everything that brought
a lot of nothing to Atlanta and will do
the same for any team taking
a chance on him, IMHO.

When in NO they couldn't trade
him away fast enough after finding
out what they had in Colston.

He wasn't good enough for McNabb or
Brady to rely on him even as a #2 guy.

He's way overrated and almost done.

I was thinking along those lines also,
along with what lobsterboy says in #61.

People only remember the blow outs,
but they were in more games than
they get credit for.

I mean, they held the Vikes w/AP
to 10 pts to force overtime if I remember
correctly. Something like that.

Defense needs to be more consistent
and can be.

Offensively, don't forget that Bryant Johnson
was a solid #2 WR in Arizona when needed
before going to SF. Ronald Curry couldn't
show anything in Oakland just as
Randy Moss couldn't.

These two guys can burn defenses who
pay too much attention to Megatron.

The OL should be improved enough to
help the running game to help the
passing game with a TE relief valve.

I do think Stafford should sit a few games
to watch the speed. Also a few weeks
of more intensified practices should
get him more game ready.

Call me foolishly optomistic, but six
wins would surprise me less than only two.

Hope it plays out that way cuz backs with
EJs diminished skills can be had a lot cheaper.

Saints have two backs in the backfield already.
Only need a backup if one gets hurt,
not someone to spell them. EJ getting 8 to 10
carries a game will only mess them up.

And, oh yeah, Pierre Thomas is one of my
fantasy backs. lol
