What I'm saying is that his inability to raise his kids, like his inability to get in shape even with access to top notch facilities and people, exposes a flaw in his personality that hurts him professionally. He lacks discipline! And the ability to make changes! As for being close, losing in the NFC Championship (to a team they had blown out earlier in the season) is a step BACKWARDS from the last truly "deep" playoff run they made, when they lost in the Super Bowl!
I didn't mean that his kids affect his professional decision, I just mean that it shows that he may lack discipline/focus in general, which hurts him in professional circumstances. I've been defending him from critics for the last three years, but now I'm starting to see their arguments holding true. Outside of the NFC championship appearance in 2008-2009, their playoff appearances since that Super Bowl losing year have been one and done or none and done. Andy Reid has had 13 years to bring a championship to Philadelphia and they haven't been close for 7 years.
Andy Reid's problem is that he lacks the ability to make changes, or to face challenges. Look at his personal life - despite the fact that he has access to world class athletic facilities he's still a fat load. He can't control his kids. This translates into failures of learning and executing on the field. He still can't manage the clock. He refuses to acknowledge that the West Coast offense is dead in the NFL. He's only recently learned that you need to run the ball, but he still doesn't run at the goal line, because he hasn't figured out that you need a decent big-back to do that. His draft strategies have usually sucked. Every time there is a big game, he gets out-coached. I used to believe in Andy Reid, but I can no longer support someone who has had 12 years to learn and succeed and has yet to do so.
For people talking about "not going through the grind", you seem to have forgotten something - pitching is WORK. It is repetitive, exhausting, and incredibly difficult. I've thrown 90+ pitches on a hot day before, admittedly not anywhere near as fast or at as competitive a level as Verlander, but it's not easy and it certainly is a grind. So the "less work" argument is bunk, IMO.
Haha, I know that Cintron isn't really the truth, I just like him because he's local to me. But a few short years ago he did look like he could be something good, until he got busted up by Margarito.
IMO this would probably be a good thing for PSU. Despite all his wins, Joe Paterno hasn't had a serious title contender in something like 6 or 7 years, and 1994 before that.
I think that the reason Luck is being so over-hyped is because there has been a lack of NFL level-QB talent since the 2004 Rivers/Manning/Roethlisberger (also include Matt Schaub) draft. Aaron Rodgers aside, the 7 drafts since then have produced (as starters): Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Jamarcus (HAHA) Russel (HAHA), Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Kyle Orton, Tavaris Jackson, Vince Young, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Christian Ponder, Matthew Stafford, Kevin Kolb, Blaine Gabbert, and Curtis Painter. Only Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco have had real success out of those chosen, and Flacco has been successful more because of a strong running game and defense more than his own contributions.
Nope. There are two requirements to be considered a sport. 1. A ball (or puck/disc, for those of us you who play hockey or ultimate, respectively) 2. Defense MMA wiffs on the first requirement. Of course, so does the track aspect of track and field, swimming (synchronized and race), skiing (all varieties), snowboarding, skateboarding, and the NBA (no defense.)
This is the same team that went 6-7 last year, lost their top receiver, has no established running back (yes, Crowley is a top recruit, but he's just that - a recruit), and if I remember correctly, has a few OL injured (?, not 100% sure). But you're right, they're totally primed for a great season.
IMO Rose is a bit selfish sometimes, and even though he can score pretty well he often takes more shots than I would like a pg to take. I think this comes from playing @ Memphis and being "the man" both handling and shooting the ball. His defense also isn't as good as CP3 and I would personally even consider putting Westbrook above him, at least for this season.
Alright man sorry. Like I said I didn't mean to be a jerk, I just wasn't sure if you knew exactly what the deal is. I assumed and I made an **** out of me.
Not to be a jerk but I'm pretty sure that the rule only says that the player has toe be at least 19 and one year removed from high school - I don't believe it explicitly says that a player must go to college. Ex - go pro in a foreign country for a year, then come back and play ball here.
It's too bad... I used to defend DA as a better option than BQ in Cleveland (cleveland is my afc team of choice, btw). Now I see him for what he is - a strong-armed inaccurate QB in the same mold as jajokeus russel. I think that a tirade like what he did was a little immature, but I can understand being frustrated after a loss and at being harassed by a reporter pushed him over the mental edge during the conference.

2. Remote drops
3. Grunts during position shifting
4....
Oh, we were talking about results?
