When you take into account international contribution etc. I think you will find that the 2 time Champion will end up as a HoF.

Come on DJ you know that running the O is about more than pure assist numbers. If the lakers O was at its optimum you would be seeing the best out of Gasol, Howard and even Nash himself.

You don;t have to be a great individual defender to be successful. Thibs has made less than stellar defenders very functional in hes system.

lakers lack, youth, speed and athleticsm. Their best best defender, Howard is still not 100% from back surgery.

However, at the end of the day. Team game and you have to do it at both ends of the court. You cant have 3 HoF players beside you and expect them to get down and dirty on D and then for long stretches make them feel there job is simply to inbound the ball to number 24 on O and get out of the way.

The Lakers have all the tools to be a playoff team, those tools arent being used properly. Asking gasol to be a mid range shooter is like trying to chop a tree down with a hammer.

He showed in the Olympics how destructive he can be in the Post. At the end of the day, despite hes statistical season, Kobe dominating the ball as much as he does is a major problem and breaks any rhythm or chemistry the team may have or be trying to build.

Kobe scored 35-40 points recently, forget against who. But in the post game review both Worthy and magic highlighted that Kobe had 0 assists. Both outright said this can not happen again.

Kobe can't do it all himself, no matter how many impossible shots he hits. Thus, he needs to find ways to get more from hes team mates.
