Tom Hicks is such a buffoon. He is a replica of the financial problems of this country. Over-extending his credit, borrowing against himself, except he has zero liquidity. He would have easily had the money to cover the Rangers and Stars, but blew his wad buying Liverpool! Hell the Stars are $10mil under the already small salary cap in hockey. Rangers had a chance this year and he will probably lose Nolan Ryan through the whole process since he wont be able to afford him either.

I dont think he is coming off an injury plagued season where he played 10 games, he didnt play at all last year and missed nearly the entire year the year before. However at 39 and you have had two hip surgeries already? I would let him stay, for the vet minimum. After earning millions the last two years and barely playing he should owe the club. However it might be time for my team to break away from the oldies, Modano's last year, no Zubie, maybe ship off Lehtinen this year and Turco next year, time for changes!

Gee, it seems only 18 months ago that Marlon Byrd was nearly out of the league before ressurecting himself with the Rangers. Just goes to show with how lousy this team hits now that Rudy Jaramillo is no genius like everyone proclaims. A lot fo the past numbers were performance enhanced on this team. Look at the names on the reports: Canseco, Gonzales, Palmeiro, Rodriguez, Byrd, Matthews, Hairston, A-Fraud, not to mention pitchers Gagne and Rocker. The past is so dirty in Texas and all those bloated stats made Jaramillo the highest paid hitting coach. Now they can't hit their weight and strike out ten times every game. OVERRATED!!

Skeletor, the worst Commish in all of sports. He sure isnt unhappy about how baseball was revitalized after the strike by steroid induced gorillas hitting 70 homeruns a year. He is just pissed everyone is getting caught and the black eye is there forever. This is the same sport where it was ok for years to put whatever you wanted into your body, but don't you dare go make a bet with a bookie! Lifetime ban for Pete Rose, fine, then I want lifetime bans for all these cheaters as well. If you do this deal, I would only extend Shaq for one more year since he is breaking down. That gives you a two year window, same for Kidd. However, I still believe Howard and his girl ankles needs to head out of town and maybe Jet along with him for some quality defenders. If you have Dirk, Shaq and Kidd, then you surround them with freakin hustling athletes and not stoners and wing stop ad guys.....man Ron Artest would fit here so nicely.

I was actually more shocked to see Tippett go with two years left on his deal that Hicks has to pay now, that cheap-skate is already broke, suprised to see him go along with that.

Modano's last year, so his input is not needed and Turco needs to shoulder some of the blame for last year. I know there were crucial injuries with star players and Tippett did the best he could, but Turco was sub-par last year, even when they were healthy.

By the way, the last 6 years Tippett was in Dallas and no coach in the league had a better winning percentage....I think you got rid of a good coach.

Sean Avery ruined this team and he was barely here!

Enough freakin Lebron talk, annointed since he was 15 years old to be the chosen one....who cares, when a basketball title first and then you can have some accolades. He hits one regular game-winning three pointer and the media will not let that shot go from their minds! Majic Johnson saying that shot put him with the all time greats of the game...really? A game-winning three pointer does that? Then I guess there about 2,000 all time great players. Don't get me wrong, I think Lebron is an awesome player and will be one of the best ever and is very likeable too, but the way the media can't stop going all over themselves about him, drives me silly. ESPN should change their name to Lebron, Manny, AROD, Kobe, Shaq, Dwayne Wade all time channel.

The real culprit on this team is Ericka Tampier. This guy is as useless as they get, and is basically the metaphor for "wasted height and overpaid" plus he has little girly hands and can't handle ANY PASS thrown his way. He is slow and Nene destroyed him this series. There is a clause in Tampier's contract that if you trade him to a team and that team releases him, he only counts 1.5 mil against the cap.....I think it is right under the other clause that says he can play like an overpaid useless pile on the court as well.

Say bye-bye to Damp, Gerald Green Devean George, Jason Kidd, and maybe another useless part. The Mavs need to work some kind of trade for Shaq to plug the middle, I dont think Bosh would work here becuase he plays the same position as Dirk. Other than, FIND A FREAKIN DEFENSIVE OFF-GUARD!!!
