Ron Dayne was fat and slow. TR is a beast of a man. The only concern I have about TR is he is TOO violent. I would wonder if he makes it to his second contract.
The problem with this "request" is that the kid made it public. If he had said "Hey, there is this friend of mine you should look at too (wink)". And then left, Dabo could have made the decision without the public scrutiny.
As it is now, it looks like Clemson is so desperate for the kid they will give 3 or 4 scholarships for him. That doesn't speak well for the program.
Ask yourself WWSD? (What would Saban Do?) The answer is clear, Kennan Allan demanded Bama give Zack Maynard an offer or he would walk. Allan and Maynard are now playing for a terrible Cal team.
Agreed. Teams flying to Boise would have a tough game @Boise. But traveling cross country for 1 game a year is a lot different than traveling cross country for 4 games a year.
Back to back road games for Bama, 4 hr plane trip to Boise then a 1 hour plane ride to Baton Rouge.
Back to back for Boise, two 4 hour plane trips.
It would be 4 times harder on Boise than it would be on any other team.
I know the game would be different. Win? never know. They would have had a better chance if he was still in the game.
But Texas was a lot like Florida that year. But Tebow was tougher to stop than McCoy and Florida had a better run defense. It would have been closer, but not definite Texas winning.
USC is 8-1 against UCLA (not exactly "always"). Texas had a excellent team in 2009. McCoy made beating Bama impossible. Quality opponent, tough break. OU still makes it to the BCS most years and has good coaches and great talent.
If all your opponents suck, is winning worth while?
don't need to be "legitimate". Arguing #1 vs #3 in recruiting is "subjective". But comparing Top 10 to mid 50s is normally pretty clear. Throw in the fact that the players are going on to be NFL draft picks means that the rankings do have merit.
Although you can always call out 1 or 2 players that flopped/succeeded.
Sure you can do it if you have the best coaches (Miles, Meyer and Saban), pay your coordinators $750K+, the best recruiting classes (Top 10 every year) and loaded with NFL talent (Bama has had 7 first round picks).
But if you play 45 crap teams and 8 good teams and never play decent teams back-to-back. It is more like you are a good team beating up on terrible competition and not really a GREAT team.
Which is why BSU isn't "jobbed by the BCS", beating 1 good team + 11 cupcakes doesn't qualify you for the BSC!
yeah, you have no knowledge about football do you? People make points.
1) Boise State plays 10+ terrible teams a year. Therefore 50-3 is not impressive. 2) Wyoming is the 3rd best team they play and Wyoming lost to Temple and Utah State.

BEAT the best to BE the best.

The other thing is that Boise would be a tough sale to southern boys.
For the conversation, I basically assume. 1) no travel problems. 2) no change in players over the last 4 years.

"If LSU, Bama and Florida could dominate the SEC, So could Boise"
My Counter point.
LSU, Bama and Florida are programs with big money coaches (Head and Assistants) and the best athletes (not just starters but backups).
Boise does not have the same characteristics which allow them to dominate.
I will agree that these are not the only programs like this around the country. USC, Texas, Oklahoma, etc are all similar. But not Boise.
Although you can always call out 1 or 2 players that flopped/succeeded.
Last time I checked, Boise has none of those.

Your team sucks!
Are you 10 years old? or just stupid?
