Maybe more football players in the SEC have boyfriends instead of girlfriends.
And why would I suggest something as spiteful as that?
Studies as recently as 2008 found that:
- Chicago (about 100 miles from South Bend) has a 5.7% gay population.
- Atlanta (pretty much smack-dab in the middle of SEC country) has a 12.8% gay population. Atlanta also has the 3rd highest gay population of any major US city - behind only San Francisco and Seattle.
This story seemed odd when the media talked about it leading up to the bowl game.
They mentioned the girlfriend had terminal cancer, and (I think) lived out-of-state.
On the surface, it makes you wonder, 'Why on earth would an intelligent, normal-looking, athletically-gifted, college student with tons of potential in life be dating someone who lived in another state and was fixin' to die soon?'
But then you just figure: maybe they met in South Bend -- dated for a while -- she developed cancer suddenly -- had to go out of state for the best treatment possible... Or maybe: they were HS sweethearts in Hawaii (his home state) -- were maintaining a long-distance relationship while he was in college -- she developed cancer suddenly...
I just chalked it up to Te'o's good heart.
At the time it seemed unusual, but not implausible.
Dean Koontz. I actually like his books better than King's.
King tends to go off on 50-page tangents that, though somewhat interesting, are not an integral part of the story.
Koontz keeps you glued to the story starting with the end of the 1st chapter. I've read almost every book he's written and just about every one was nearly impossible to put down.
By the way, Trixie, his real-life golden retriever, died in 2007, but her spirit lives on his stories.
In the last book I read, the protagonist family overcame the antagonist (a sort of ghost) with the help of the spirit of their beloved, deceased dog.
Athletic director Jay Jacobs stated that an internal review has cleared the university of any wrong doing.
And former coach Chizik is reporting that he ran a clean program.
I guess that settles that!
never met a woodpecker I liked more..
nerd for life - fan
no free lunch - not a fan
Where?!
Who's playing?
What channel?!!
Here's another:

Don't believe me?
Look it up.

Congrats to Alabama.
That Saban guy .... Jeez.
Regardless of what he does from here on out, cfb fans will still be talking about him 100 years from now.
I haven't read any Alabama newspapers.
Any rumors circulating about possibly renaming the state?
I don't know, maybe:
- Sabama
- Sabanville
- Alasabam
Wait; that wouldn't sit well at all with (the other) half of the state.
That would cause riots from here to Tuesday.
Hold on...
The current name doesn't sit well with half the state!
His heart's just not in it.
He's just goin thru the motions.
jk
But ya, I'm thinking the same thing.
Now that the bowl games are concluded, who doesn't want to see some combination of:
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Oregon
- TX A&M
- Stanford
Because let's face it:
those are probably the 5 best teams itc as the season ends.
And at this point, it is almost impossible to determine what the correct order should be.
'most embarrassing butt-whoppin' in a big-time bowl game?
Probably in the top 5 or so..
But Stanford and Baylor just had to throw the wrench...
I seem to be watching the wrong channel.
Does anyone know what channel has #1 vs #2?
2 horrendous back-to-back calls .
And I got to go outside for an hour a day, plus I had a whole month on the chain gang!
Well hopefully there won't be any nukes near Miami tonight.
(although a nice little nuke taking out the Chicoms & N Korea would be nice!)
Although there are probably some people out there that hate both Alabama and Notre Dame.
I bet they are hoping for a 0-0 score in decuple OT where so many players are injured or worn out both sides just forfeit simultaneously.
Lmao!
