Haha...I disagree. I think McDaniels had an agenda to get Cassel to Denver from teh moment the guy was hired. You're talking about a guy who had a good QB in Orton, but decided to take Tebow in the draft when that team had other serious deficiencies.
Combine that with his # of pitches per at bat and it tells me he fights off a lot of pitches and forces the pitchers into walks rather than them throwing around him so they can get to Jeter and Granderson.
Has he though? he's won a few divisions and everyone talks about how they come on late. Well, since when does Sept and Oct not count? Unless you play for the Mets of course.
Cutler put up numbers on a Denver team who had no defense and no running game. I think Cutler is an excellent QB.
It doesn't make him worse. I'm just saying most teams have a solid 2-3-4 and maybe 5. The Yankees have had a solid 1-8 in his whole time here. He has protection. I will give him credit though. A .383 OBP on top of a .277 BA last year is pretty impressive for a guy that figures to get pitched to every time.
A) He has put up numbers like that once in his career; B) He is the only guy you pitch to on that team; C) He is fast and a great base stealer.
Other than the fact that he is fast and a great base stealer who hits 20 HR by virtue of playing in a little league stadium, I don't see it. He is a product of his protection in my opinion.
I hate the Jets too. Classless. Edwards doing backflips on the field after the game. Shonn Greene's celebration. Fat Rex running to the end zone to celebrate instead of tell his player he's a horse's butt. I really hope Big Ben kills them this week.
If you're going ot get involved and make it look like you're smart, at least understand the conversation. We are talking about Johnny Damon as a Royal, not a Tiger. Actually, that proves my point very well. Damon put up decent numbers with the Tigers, but not the kind of numbers he put up with the Yanks. Due to lineup protection and ballpark factors.
The point is, when you're facing a stacked lineup, you game plan to who you pitch to carefully and who you're careful not to walk. You're careful not to walk Bret Gardner when you play the Yankees.
No, but he was about to put up big individual numbers. I'm betting Gardner wouldn't be able to. We may get th echance to find out if his career follows the trajectory of Melky Cabrera's. Melky, of the KC Royals. The same Melky who batted .250 last year, got released, and got a raise. Gotta love a strong union and pansy owners.

Rex Ryan needs to put a sock in it. Really hope the Steelers light them up.
