We're all going to feel dumb in 30 years when he's a Supreme Court Justice, thanks to being suspended for a year and given time to focus on his studies.

I work security in a nightclub in Las Vegas. I get called every name you could possible think of, and some you couldn't, on a nightly basis. I get provoked, pushed, spit at, and anything else drunk people can come up with to make themselves feel better about themselves five days a week for the last six years.

And I've yet to punch someone in the jaw after they've turned their head away from me.(or while they were still facing me, for that matter!)

Mike Tyson comes to our club pretty often and licks girl's faces and asks them if they want to go to his house in Henderson and have butt sex with him and his friends.

I'm a Bouncer at a Nightclub in Las Vegas. I've been one for almost five years. If my bosses suddenly wanted me to be a porter or bathroom attendant or something else I have no desire to do, I'd go find a job at a new club that will hire me as a Bouncer.

Hopefully Phillies fans won't have to endure the same "We Got Nomar" t-shirts, signs, and chants that we had to endure when the Cubs picked him up. Yeah, he was still a good player at the time and we gave up almost nothing for him in like a five team trade, but those chants were annoying.

By that logic, you must have the biggest crush on the Cubs anyone has ever had.
Posted Wednesday January 07, 2009, About: Who voted Belichick Coach of the Year?
I've been a bouncer for Vegas nightclubs for about six years now. I used to work for a company that owned two clubs, two lounges, two resturaunts, and staffed the pool at the same Casino. One night I was working the front door of one of the lounges and a hostess came running out of one of our resturaunts across the way waving frantically for me.

Now, this is a 400 dollar a plate high end steak resturaunt. 50 dollar appetizers, 200 dollar steaks, 250 dollar fresh delivered daily king crab. It was a pretty high end place.

And one of the customers, a completely average middle aged middle class man, was chasing another one of the customers, another completely average middle aged middle class man, with a steak knife because he thought the guy said something about his wife(the guy being chased was German, and I guess the guy doing the chasing spoke rudimentary German, and there was a miscommunications somewhere in the language barrier). When I got there, the guy had the guy cornered and was running at him with the knife. I had to jump between them and throw the guy to the ground.

I've bounced in some nice places, and I've bounced in some ****-bag hole in the walls. And the only time I've ever been stabbed at work was at a 400 dollar a plate, month-long reservation list, high class resturaunt.

Things happen everywhere.

That was Todd Helton's exact account, the first baseman for the opposing team, the Rockies. Who they also happened to be neck and neck in a divisional race with five games left to play, so I guess he had lots of reasons to lie to cover up for Bradley throwing a temper tantrum for no reason, right?

It wasn't the first time Mike Winters had been reprimanded for inappropriate conduct in the field. He told Charlie Hayes to go **** himself after he kicked him out for arguing balls and strikes back in 1998.

With that whopping 3.5 million that revenue sharing probably got them? Signing a bench player for two years.

Everyone looks at the big number of 100 million or whatever it was, ignoring the fact that that money is divided up between the other 28 teams(Yankees and Tigers had to pay this year) that didn't pay revenue sharing.

Carl Everett will forever hold a place in my heart for that Sports Illustrated interview some years ago.

"I don't believe in Dinosaurs, man. Nobody said nothin' about Dinosaurs in the bible. Nobody has ever seen a Dinosaur. People actually saw Adam and Eve. Nobody's ever seen a Dinosaur."
Posted Saturday January 03, 2009, About: DeRosa trade may jump-start Peavy talks
I think a lot of people do quite the opposite and overestimate the value of DeRosa. He had one better-than-average year and suddenly he's the second coming of Jesus.

I love when the morons bring this up.

He didn't hurt his knee "throwing a tantrum because he disagreed with the ump." The umpire accused him of throwing his bat at the home plate umpire after a called third strike the last at bat, when he was clearly just tossing it towards the dug out like after any other inning ending strike out, and when Bradley hit a single the next at bat he proceeded to pick a fight with Bradley by calling him a "worthless piece of poop"(In not as nice words that would get filtered), which was when Bradley blew up and had to be held back. The umpire was suspended without pay for the rest of the season for the incident.

It's also a little bit different in Vegas. In a lot of places strip clubs are taboo or seedy hole in the wall places. In Vegas they're a major, mainstream part of the local economy.

I fully plan to still be working in this business when I'm in my 30s if it stays the way it is. I made around 75K in 2008 only working three-four days a week(scheduled for three, but honestly I worked four almost every week because of this person needing a day off or this person being suspended or whatever). The economy may suck, but people still love breasts. And as long as the girls are getting paid, I'm getting paid.

That was an obvious joke and exageration. Clearly I still go hang out with my friends. Bowling, billards, movies, whatever. But I work in a Strip/Night Club so I'm surrounded by people and bumping, ear shattering(literally, in some places it reaches up to 110 decibles) music for eight to ten hours a day. When I get off of work I just want to be by myself and unwind for a while. It's just my version of watching the TV for a couple of hours after work.

No, they can all continue gambling and paying for my state taxes.

Honestly, out of everyone else Barry Bonds dissapoints me the most. He was already destined to be a Hall of Fame player before he started juicing. McGwire and Sosa were "good", but Barry Bonds was great. He was exciting to watch. I lived in Chicago as a kid and was a huge Cubs fan, but everytime the Pirates came in to town we'd go to the game to see Barry play. He was truly something special when he was younger. I just cannot wrap my mind around why he would taint that by doing the stupid things he did.

I mean, he almost joined the 40/40 club two years in a row. In '96 he had 42 home runs and 40 stolen bases, then in '97 he had 40 home runs and 37 stolen bases. He was just exciting to watch.

That's the best part of being a grown up. I get to play World of Warcraft 24/7 and nobody cares!

Posted Tuesday December 30, 2008, About: Mets don't want Andruw Jones
The article says that Andruw's name was mentioned to Omar Minaya but the discussion "never intensified." Which basically means someone somewhere in the Dodger's front office said, "You guys need a right fielder and we're taking offers for Andruw Jones," to which the response was probably the sound of a phone hanging up.

I'm allergic to the gym. I tried to tell my girlfriend that but she doesn't believe me. Everytime I go to a gym I get all sweaty and hot and have trouble breathing and can't wait for it to be over.

Sure sounds like allergies to me.
Posted Tuesday December 30, 2008, About: Red Sox asked Marlins about Ramirez
Shut up. :(

Mayor Goodman secured financing to build a state of the art stadium out here with the casinos eating most of the costs six or seven years ago when the Marlins were looking to move out of Florida, but MLB veto'd the idea of a team in Vegas.

Though Thirsty Thursdays at the 51s games are always fun. Dollar beers every home game on a Thursday. I never remember who wins.
