Actually, I read somewhere that the conference trophy winners have only touched it 4 times and gone on to win the Cup. That said, it won't make a difference here. I've been really impressed with Pittsburgh in the conference finals. That said, Carolina doesn't come close to giving them the same issues that Detroit will present. I'm looking forward to a great series. Go Wings!

I don't see what the big deal is. Last spring as the Wings rolled toward the Cup, people like Don Cherry and Mike Milbury said the Wings were boring and lacked passion because they rarely showed any emotions. Now there's a superstar who genuinely celebrates all goals his team scores and people complain? Also, Ovie has been celebrating goals since he came into the league. Why in his 4th year is this a problem?

Enough with the changes. There is enough scoring for me. The changes they make always cater these things to the casual fan, but screw them. Some of the most exciting hockey games I've ever seen have been 1-0. How many people do you hear complain when that happens in baseball?

Next thing you know, they'll be removing goalies during power plays.

I think this ring makes 10 for Scotty, because I am pretty sure he had 9 as a head coach. And torque1, you are dead on. How many people can win rings in multiple decades with different teams, and continue to influence so many people after his coaching days are over? Bowman is one of a kind.

Why wouldn't the Wings want to add an elite player that plays offense and defense? He's a perfect fit for the Wings. And if a guy like that is willing to take a discount to play with you, why not sign him?

The problem with Stanton is that he's the white version of Charlie Batch - hasn't played a full season since high school. He definitely has the skills, but he's very injury prone.

Regarding Feagin, it's my understanding that he can't throw spirals and is having some issues with the playbook, which is why he has started practicing at WR.

Threet has been solid the last couple games (minus the fumbles). I don't see any reason for him not to start.

If you lack an injured defense, doesn't that you have a non-injured defense?

In any case, what was Pittsburgh going to do? They had to sign Malkin. Whenever you can, you have to keep your best players. It does however, mean that the Penguins' so called dynasty is unlikely to happen.
