Once a Laker Always a Laker. Lakers for life always come back. Fisher is a Laker now. Horry will always be loved but he has rings with multiple teams so we cant claim him. Rick Fox is back. Norm Nixon is back. Kareem is on the bench. Kupchak is GM. Magic is part owner. Coop is coaching minor leagues in staples so close enough. Jerry West will always be a Laker. Mychal Thompsen is a broadcaster. B Shaw is on the staff. Byron Scott will be back 1 day but not as a head coach I hope. That 120 - 58 beatdown is a big red flag. Even that coat tail rider AC Green came back at the end. And lets not forget the beloved Sven Nater. Scratch the last 1. These are all legends that contributed to Laker championships and will always be Lakers and I am sure there are more I am not aware of that are connected to the organization. I dont think there is an organization with more former players integrated into it after their careers end. Oh yeah and Shaq.....pssst, please. We remember the championships he brought here but we also remember the potential titles he cost us because of his vindictive ego. He burned the bridge. Shaq aint welcome here, he is banned.

exactly. even though he is not starting or playing or even dressing for a game he is still distracting from what the team is doing. do you see how he spins it? "i didnt say i didnt want to play". now back to you dantoni and let the distractions begin instead of me squashing it, i want the spotlight f the team. he didnt say he didnt want to play but he didnt say he wanted to play either. stop using technicalities and dancing around your words. your actions speak much louder. or inaction. he seems content with his label because 1) he doesnt care and 2)he knows its the truth and he will not change. at this point he is what he is. even kobe wasnt happy with how people percieved him and said i am not that guy and made changes. MARBURY WILL ALWAYS BE A DISTRACTION NO MATTER WHAT TEAM OR COACH HE PLAYS FOR OR SITS ON THE BENCH FOR AND NOW IT DOESNT MATTER IF HE EVEN DRESSES TO PLAY.
Posted Sunday November 23, 2008, About: Marbury: I didn't refuse to play
Dantoni told him he had minutes for him and the first thought through marburys head is " i thought you were going a different direction, i wasnt in the plans". instead of saying ok, i am in whatever i got to do to help this team win. thats the problem with team sports these days. the attitude of -oh, you didnt want me before but now you need me? you cant think selfishly in a team game especially if what the coach is doing is working. he was gauging marbury and his answer let him know all he needed to know. still thinking about yourself and some stupid talk about going a different direction instead of thinking of helping the team and start preparing for the game. marbury gets no slack because he is notorious for being a horrible team player and any team he starts on is destined for a losing record or not meeting expectations. always falling below expectations. he is a team killer, the a-rod of basketball. this is his legacy and he had a chance to change his mindset and his reputation but as you can see he hasnt learned anything and at this point probably never will.after that, if i was a gm that would seal it for me forever. he is done in the nba. all about him and not what he has done to get himself in that situation in the first place. it not marbury just giving an opinion, his whole thought process was going in the wrong direction which has been his problem his whole career.

Solich stepped in to try to fill tom osbornes shoes and failed miserably. tom osbourne was contending for national titles every year and i think they were coming off back to back titles when osborne stepped down. one of the greatest coaches ever. sloich brought that program to where it is now. he is responsible for the decline of nebraska football. i remember being happy when osborne retired cause i had a feeling solich was nowhere near the coach that osborne was. im a usc guy and remember wishing my team was a championship contender and looking at nebraska as the standard even though i hated them. now that i think about it, thank god he retired because i think that nebraska program was peaking at that time which is insane. solich is a scrub who began the downfall of nebraska football so i dont see how huskers have egg on thier faces. ridiculous. solich is like ron zook replacing steve spurrier, rich pettibone replacing joe gibbs, ray handley replacing bill parcells, barry switzer replacing jimmy johnson( i know he won a super bowl as head coach but cmon. that team was on autopilot. thy knew exactly what they had to do. i couldve been head coach) and bill guthrie or what ever his name is, replacing dean smith. great coaches, great programs left in hands of guys who couldnt maintain that standard and were leading those franchises to thier decline.

gary pinkel is a good coach just not a great one? i dont know id have to say he is better than good right now and going to a better place might bump him up to one of the top coaches in the nation. how many coaches were successful at missouri before he came? i cant remember who the coach was he replaced. and they have one of the most explosive offenses around. looking at the big picture he has done a tremendous job at missouri. almost got them to #1 for a minute. also he is in the middle of big 12 country behind 3 powerhouses and now some up and coming teams. trying to recruit with those teams hovering over you and try to get to their level sounds like a painful process and he is pretty close right now. to me it says alot about what type of coach he is. i think it was much easier for frank beamer to build vtech almost under the radar. the big east had no powerhouses. miami was down when his program rose to be one of the top programs so i dont think that situation is even close to comparable. that list of possible coaching candidates is pretty impressive though. even usc didnt have options like that when they were looking for a coach after the worst coach i have seen - paul hackett almost single handedly buried the trojans forever. but it worked out.

willingham left a pretty good group of players behind at stanford and notre dame plus jake locker will be there and im sure he has some good young talent on that team. you just cant tell right now. having to clean up after ty might be a selling point. ha

and thats the other side of it. Kupchak deserves that. i didnt believe in him but i was wrong, the picks he made blossomed and it just took patience. i can now see he is a brilliant gm and probably the only one who could step in after the great jerry west and keep the franchise rolling and contending. Even this year i was thinking the lakers need to grab posey artest or someone and kupchak said just be patient and watch. having bynum back and ariza is like adding 2 players and from what ive seen so far it looks like we added 2 new players who are going to make a difference. very patient man.

Plaschke is an idiot. he is blowing this thng out of porportion. the lakers signed for three years with a fourth year option. that way it gives them an out in three years if he doesnt deliver or that injury comes back. what would you need to wait for the end of year when you know at that time you will have to pay him the max and for more years and still be in the same boat evaluating his potential. it aint all about scoring average. for andrew, if anything its got to be the rebounds, blocks and shot altering i pay attention to and his ability to nuetralize opposing bigmen. i dont know if we would have won last year with him but i guarantee you kendrick perkins wouldnt have been punking the lakers like that.

oh yeah to Cmon Oden. -"They needed to sign him to continue the dillusion that they are going to make it to The Finals again this year. The West is too deep for the same pack of chumps to win again".

What? did you say dillusion?
How about delusion or delusional which is the perfect word to describe blazer fan. the west is stacked but i hope you are not referring to your team as part of the stack because that is delusional. or that oden will ever amount to anything other that the second coming of sam bowie. if you think oden isnt injury prone then your delusional. especially after you got crushed by 20 so i see where the delusional hate comes from. but after the lakers- blazers wars over the years which portland would come out on bottom alot of times its understandable. you need to stop the delusion that the lakers arent good enough to make it back to the finals because after following them so far this year, they have the right attitude, they are hungry, mad and working on the one glaring weakness in the team as a team. everone on the team improving defensively. will they make it? i dont know but there is a high chance. there are really tough teams to get through but the portland trailblazers wont be one of them. and those same chumps will miss the playoffs again.
Posted Thursday October 30, 2008, About: LeBron eyeing Lakers & Mavs
lebron to the lakers sounds to good to be true but its cool that one of the top 2 players is intrigued because the lakers are the best run franchise in basketball. lebron is thinking if kobe is on on the downward side of his peak and could pass the torch and lebron would take over as the present and future on championship contending teams for the next 15 years. he knows the basketball brain trust for the lakers will get the guys he needs. i think bynum factors into that equation because he is young and if he continues to improve, they are both young and could dominate together for a long time. and also the city of LA probably intrigues him too. but for that to happen all the planets would have to line up in front of the sun for a solar eclipse while haleys comet passes in front of them. it would be really unfair if the lakers got the 2 best players of this generation and very improbable but ill keep dreaming.
