the point of the matter is A-rod adminted to using a banned substance...if he starts going into details who's to say big brother will not come after him, or try to force him into becoming a snitch? who in their right mind would want that?-

that is true..**** for the mets and every other team that's hurting for pitchers because with the yankees driving prices up they will have to overpay for pitchers....I mean would teams be cosindering 5 year deals at 15-20 mil for the likes of AJ and Lowe any other year?

baffling

Boston doesn't really need him...their focus is Tex or another slugger (sorry, Jason Bay is not filling Manny's shoes). but it wouldnt hurt them. I would be weird I must admint

the thing that made him great was his combination of power pitches, movement, and location. plus the dude is really smart, if he accepts that he is no longer a power pichter and learns to use his ability to locate and make the ball move. he could be really good. maddux has been doing that for 23 years. never a power pitcher. the problem with Pedro is that his Ego has him going out to strike out 12 or 13 hitters everytime, and as a result he gets taken out of the ballpark a lot. it could be a lot different if he just went for the out instead of the strike out

I agree with that...when some of these guys reach the heights the reach...its hard to let go and in their minds they're still great...

last year when he finally got healthy he had a few quality outtings. the problem with the mets starters is that numbers dont truly reflect how they performed due to their bullpen and closers( look at Santana, IMO the best pitcher in baseball). smoltz, pettite, even the Big unit are older pitchers still pitching...I would not count him out so quickly...he is relatively young compared to those guys

at this point in their careers, would you put Pettite over Pedro? for a 1 year deal pettite will probably get around 10 or 12...granted he is a lefty and obiously more durable...but it never hurts to have a future HOFer

True, I will all depend on how the other free agents signing go...if Lowe and perez end up going else where they need for a 5th or 6th stater will be so great they might budge and give him 8....who knows with Omar

Not really, but I kinda like the mets

you can never have too many pitchers...if he is finally healthy and regains form...I would not want him with another NL east team, (not even the Nats) so I would take a chance on him..maybe a two year deal at about 5 or 6 mil per (his ego wont let pedro take a 1 year deal)
Posted Thursday December 11, 2008, About: Sources: CC can opt out in three years
are they going to resign pedro? surely at discounted price tag...he is not the same but still sells tickets
Posted Thursday December 11, 2008, About: Sources: CC can opt out in three years
if anything it means 4 or 5 wins since he wont be pitching against the yankees. he killed them last year
