How so? Which part of this seems outlandish? Except maybe "giving" away Lowe and Kawakami. They could be moved, though. Rays have stated that they'd be looking to move either Crawford or Upton and Crawford is set to make $12 million next season. Royals admitted that they were a "long way from competing" and have a history of trading with the Braves. Idiots on T&R are saying that Pujols and Gonzalez are about to be moved and you say I'm on drugs?

First of all, Pujols has already said that his next contract won't be based on the amount of money offered. I.E. that doesn't mean that New York and Boston are the only possible locations. And everyone is overlooking a HUGE fact: the report was written by an idiot in Chicago. The Cubs fans have to have something to hope for. I don't see Pujols leaving St. Louis... he's a god at Busch.

Trade/Give Away: Kelly Johnson, Lowe, Kamakawi, Church

Let Walk: Anderson, Mike Gonzalez, Soriano (unless he comes back resonable)


Trade For: Carl Crawford, Joakim Soria

Drain Farm Except: Hanson, Freeman, Heyward

Free Agent Pick-up: Jason Bay or Holliday (or even Abreu if it comes to that point)

Here's my take. Releasing the list isn't realistic because of legal issues. If I was a player I would request that if my name was on the list than the individual record was released. That's a sure-fire way of telling the fans "I am 100% positive I am not on this list". If the players really cared and wanted the list, they would slowly come forward like this. You could spin it for baseball and make it about the clean players coming forward rather than the dirty players getting leaked

Andrew Jones is a GREAT choice for a back-up outfielder (assuming he can hit higher than .200 this year)... after he bailed for LA for the money, though, ATL fans aren't going to let him struggle for long before he starts hearing about it.... that may work against any "miraculous" turn-around

What I don't understand is if the Dodgers would have to release Jones and pay him the full $5 million anyway, why wouldn't they just TRADE him to a team for $400,000 cash? That way they're making at least a little of it back AND they're partially screwing their "bust" out of an additional 400K? I know at this point it's minimal, but still.... 400,000 is 400,000
