Damon can go to hell for all I care just as long as he doesn't come back to Boston. No Red Sox fan I know wants this bum back.
Posted Tuesday July 28, 2009, About: Werner: Red Sox trying to make big deal
Sure John Henry wants the Red Sox to make a big trade but he doesn't want to give up anything of substance in order to make it happen. How the hell can such a trade be made under those ridiculous circumstances? Once again, if anything is done, it will be for the scraps from other teams just as we did last winter.
Posted Tuesday May 26, 2009, About: Dodgers owner miffed at Manny
Why are so many people surprised at Manny's bizarre and disgusting conduct? We Red Sox fans knew all about this guy and what a rotten apple he was long before he was shipped out to LA. Of course, we have to keep taking egg off our faces because we were also guilty of being enablers by looking the other way at his antics until it became so blatant that even we had to blush. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Posted Tuesday May 26, 2009, About: Papelbon snaps at photographer
I see Papelbon didn't learn from his Saturday night fiasco at all. He tried to blow a fast ball by Joe Mauer yesterday afternoon and saw it deposited over the wall for another two run homer in the ninth. Fortunately for us we had a three run lead at the time and were able to hold on for the win. Paps had better get back to the laboratory and find the right potion or his reputation and career might wind up in the lavatory instead.
Posted Tuesday May 12, 2009, About: More fuel for Dodgers-Giants feud
What transpired at McCourt's museum Sunday might add some fuel to the moribund Giants-Dodgers rivalry, let's not get carried away with anyone being either so bold or so stupid to call it the best rivalry in baseball. That honor belongs to the Red Sox and Yankees and it has been so for at least a good decade and is only growing stronger. To give credit to the Giants, they have over-achieved so far and are doing better than predicted while the Dodgers once again are showing that without Manny they are a pack of rudderless second raters who are damn lucky to be playing in the worst division in baseball. Just look at how their "prized" young "stars" like the comotose Loney, talented but stupid Matt Kemp and choke artist Andre the Magician crapped out this weekend as soon as it was learned that Manny was no longer around to wet nurse them.
Posted Thursday March 05, 2009, About: Odd man out of Dodgers outfield?
Juan Pierre is way overpaid but he is not suited to be a fourth outfielder and he will not accept it either. It would be very wise for the Dodgers to try and find a buyer for the guy or there might be morale trouble on the team. The problem is Pierre's contract and the fact that the Dodgers will not eat any of it in order to get rid of him. They have Delwyn Young and Jason Repko for reserve outfielders and they will accept their role; Pierre won't. I know of no team at the present who would take on Pierre's contract so the Dodgers would have to take some of it in order to trade him. If they don't trade him there will be problems by mid-season.
Posted Wednesday March 04, 2009, About: Piniella outraged by ESPN criticism
Nothing to get all riled up about Lou. Just consider the source. The only time Phillips made a right prediction was the beginning of the last week of the regular season in 2007 when he said the Red Sox would win the AL East. Even then I thought it was the kiss of death for my team. Remember, this is the same guy who traded Scott Kazmir, one of the greatest young pitching prospects in the game, for some over-the-hill has been because he erroniously thought his then over-the-hill and overrated Mets had a ghost of a chance to get to the Playoffs. The Mets have been paying for it every since.
Posted Thursday February 12, 2009, About: Manny or nothing for Dodgers
Don't believe the Yankees for a second. Boras wouldn't still be playing games if he didn't have an ace up his sleeve, and that ace is the Steinnies and Cashman who probably told the agent that if all else fails come back to them at the last minute. With A-Rod distracting things in Yankeeland it seems almost impossible that the Yankees would suddenly jump in with both feet, but if we believe that we forget how desperate the Yankees are to win a World Series. They would sell their mothers and children down the river for a title and don't be suprised if early next week you hear them saying they decided to take a flyer on Ramirez. Then Yankee Stadium becomes a complete zoo, and the Dodgers chances this season goes straight into the toilet.
Posted Wednesday February 11, 2009, About: Cabrera talking to A's?
All I know is that within a week after Orlando Cabrera joined the Red Sox they took off on a hot streak that didn't subside until they won their first World Series in 86 years back in '04. He was a good teammate and clubhouse guy but rumor had it that he was trying to hit on some of his teammates' wives. That's why they say the Red Sox didn't resign him.
Posted Monday February 09, 2009, About: Canseco: More steroid surprises to come
Say what you want about Jose Canseco but he has been spot-on with all his accusations. He has been proven right every time so far. Let's not kill the messenger because some of you don't like him. He has been proven right.
Posted Monday February 09, 2009, About: Why Rangers signed Andruw Jones
No, he is not the closest thing to Manny. Ramirez can hit the hell out of the ball and is always in tip top shape. He is an absolute workaholic. Don't let Manny's wierd habits get in the way of that. Jones on the other hand is a fat and lazy slob who has forgotten how to hit and didn't care what the fans said last season. Remember, he said "I don't care when one of his teamates told him how he had lost the Dodger fan base.
Posted Wednesday January 28, 2009, About: Catch in Varitek's offer?
Varitek could have done what A-Rod did after the 2007 season when Boras bungled his contract talks. He simply went around his agent and got a new contract from the Yankees. Varitek, for all his popularity with the Red Sox fans, is a greedy money hungry bum who also happens to be stupid as well. How he could have believed he could have gotten a big payday after th woeful season he had boggles the imagination. BTW, the deadline has been moved up to Friday. I think he has no choice but to come back with his tail between his legs and accept the contract because there is nothing else out there for him. However, he just might cut his nose to spite his face and say no. At that point, should it come to that, the Red Sox must show him the door and change the locks so he cannot get back in.
Posted Wednesday January 14, 2009, About: Red Sox catcher moves may include D-Backs, Rangers
As a Red Sox fan I agree that this charade is becoming a joke. Theo Epstein should either barf or get away from the sink, and do it in the next few days. If worse comes to worse we could go with a platoon of Bard and Kotteras for a year, or give Brown a shot. The Rangers need pitching and shouldn't be too hard **** about who they are offered since all the young Red Sox pitchers have high potential ceilings, and they can't catch three catchers as it is. Then there is Montero of the D'Backs. They seem to have a trade in place with the Red Sox but something is holding things up. Could it be that the Sox are really after Satalamacchia and have been all the time?
Posted Wednesday January 14, 2009, About: Astros don't want Clemens around prospects
Roger is getting just what he deserved, the rotten lying bum. Besides, I'm a Red Sox and most of us hate the guy's guts. When he came back in 2007 after one of his many retirement tours he chose the Yankees over the Red Sox and came up boxcars, shuffling off the mound in defeat as he helped take his team down with him while the Red Sox went on to win the World Series. Hey Roger, how did that work out for you? Punch his number for the Big House and fit him for a prison suit.
Posted Monday January 12, 2009, About: Prince Fielder to Red Sox?
The Red Sox have Lars Anderson who will be ready to take over first base in a year or two at the most. Why would they want to take on a Baby Huey when they, in fact, don't need him. The Sox passed on Mark Teixeira when the price became exhorbitant and the price to get Prince would be the same. Besides, enough of this station-to-station baseball. The Red Sox seem set for this season and have a bevy of talented youngsters soon to arrive. Let's not fracture our team for a player we don't need and most of us don't want. Let Prince and his appetite to to the Giants or the Dodger. Just keep him away from Boston.
Posted Saturday January 10, 2009, About: Mets, Braves competing for Lowe
Show Lowe the money and he's yours. It doesn't matter which team forks over the dough because that's the team he will go with. He just has to understand that the big money is already gone and he will have to accept less than he wants and more than he's worth.
Posted Saturday January 10, 2009, About: Pavano: Yankees didn't support me
Did I hear him right? Hey, I may be a big Red Sox fan and Yankee hater but you can't get me or any sane person to lay this on the Yankees. They paid him $40 million and got peanuts out of him for four years. He ought to no better than to pop off like that. Maybe he should take to heart that old saying.......To be seen, stand up. To be heard, speak up. To be appreciated, SHUT UP!!!!!!
Posted Saturday January 10, 2009, About: Twist in Dodgers-Andruw Jones split
I have no argument with anyone who calls Jones a pig for the way he stunk it up for the Dodgers after getting all that money, but I think it was a little bush league on the Dodgers part for trying to void the contract after the fact. It was a bad signing and the deferment payments were the way to go in the first place without the attempt to weasel their way out of it after he had played one half of that contract they signed him for. Now let McCourt use that money to sign Manny Ramirez before he lets a real hitter get away. It would be just like the cheapskate Dodgers owner and his satrap GM to blow it there too.
Posted Saturday January 10, 2009, About: Garciaparra on Phillies' radar
As far as I know, Nomar's conduct with the Dodgers was above board and he always seem to display a very positive attitude. As a Red Sox fan I was good and chapped at the way he lolly gagged around for us before we traded him but he put his career back together in LA and if he can continue playing more power to him. It is just too bad his body breaks down the way it does. Was it Roids, HGH? I don't know. All I know is that he wasn't named and therefore is innocent in my eyes and should be encouraged to play. I think he would be a good pickup for the Phillies.
Posted Friday January 09, 2009, About: Dodgers' new closer will be...
Forget who the Dodgers also might be looking at as a possible closer. They will cost money and tightwad Frank McCourt, one of the phoniest owners in all sport, will talk a game but use the money instead to buy another mansion for himself and his spend thrift wife Jamie.
Posted Friday January 09, 2009, About: Lowe visits Braves
Like his erstwhile on the Red Sox, Pedro, Lowe will wind up where the most money is offered. Don't believe a word he says about where he would like to play because it is nothing but a big canard. He wants the money even if he has to be miserable where he plays. Money trumps everything to him.
