I find this entire situation strange. Time Warner owns CNN, Sports Illustrated, and Bleacher Report as you say. It makes no sense to dump one for the other, except perhaps to gain more exposure for B/R. It can't be money, as I'm sure these are all just lines on a spreadsheet within Time Warner. SI is still going to exist apart from CNN, so I imagine we'll just have to visit an independent SI.com going forward. I don't think we'll have to worry unless SI starts dumping payroll. If they start laying off columnists and cutting back on active reporting then we should be concerned. Otherwise I don't think anything will be different next season.
The 'Skins field is like the kite eating tree in Charlie Brown. Adrian Peterson last year, Chris Clemons this year, and a contributing factor in RGIII's injury. Someone should yank the football away...
Since UB started this, let's continue it. Remember, Van:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove. O no, it is an ever-fix??d mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wand'ring bark, Whose worth???s unknown, although his height be taken. Love???s not time???s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle???s compass come: Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom. ??????If this be error and upon me proved, ??????I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
I do remember the pre-Alvarez years, but rarely saw Wisconsin play then. They weren't on TV very much and I'm not from the midwest.
There were a lot of Bucky Badger costumes at the Rose Bowl. The fans did the "Jump Around" even without the music, and they still had the "5th Quarter" with the band following the game. They were massively outnumbered by Stanford fans but you couldn't always tell because of the huge amount of noise they made. There was lots of "Midwest Nice" on display. So yeah, the Wisky fans made a good impression on me.
Yeah, we're saying the same thing. I really didn't disagree with what you said before. It's just that the whole "previous coach's players" thing seems to be used most often to discount the achievements of the new coach, and I don't think that's fair.
While this is a valid point, it's an argument I'm weary of hearing. People still say the same thing about Stanford being Harbaugh's team two years on, and that's just not true. Sherman recruited them, but they never achieved this level of success under his coaching. Sumlin changed a lot; the kids responded to his direction, and he deserves a ton of credit for getting them to this point.
