You know that it's an artists rendering...there is no way the Delaware is that blue. A better picture of the stadium can be seen on the club's website.
Posted Friday June 26, 2009, About: NHL nixing Calgary outdoor game?
That would be great, but the Penguins were just in the classic a season ago, so it would be too soon. This is actually playing out nicely. Maybe by 2012 or 2013 the Pens and Flyers will play at Beaver Stadium.
Posted Thursday June 25, 2009, About: Cavalcante's next fight unclear
Eddie Alvarez isn't scared, he is just under an exclusive contract with the Bellator Fighting Championships (BFC). He just wont the new promotions LW Title last week, so I can see why Bellator wouldn't want him to fight outside of their organization. They don't need their new LW Champion to go outside and potentially lose to a guy in a different organization.

Eddie Alvarez is balls to the wall though, check out his fights on Youtube.

Too bad this fight wont happen, it probably would have been epic.
Posted Wednesday May 20, 2009, About: Coyotes staying put for now
The NHL should just cut their losses and let them move the team already. If the Coyotes remain in limbo throughout the upcoming season, the few fans that they still have will not show up because of all of this bad PR. Who would want to support a team when they may leave next year or the following year?
Posted Thursday March 12, 2009, About: Arsenal fears for fans' safety
You bragged about Arsenal's firm being tougher than Millwall's (and all other English Firms), then once it was pretty much proven that Arsenal has a weak firm, you start bragging about their team, which I wont argue about since Arsenal has had more success on the field than the Spurs. But this thread (and story) is about hooliganism, not about actual soccer (football).
But since you insist on bringing actual soccer into this thread, I have a question for you.
Who was the last team to bring home silverware? The mighty might Tottenham Hotspurs. (Carling Cup still counts).

COYS
Posted Thursday March 12, 2009, About: Arsenal fears for fans' safety
Arsenal are the Spurs main rivals on the pitch (which you mentioned), but Chelsea are the Yid Army's (Spurs Firm) main rival in hooliganism. That was the point of the post. Since when does the number of trophies have to do with hooligans?
Posted Wednesday March 11, 2009, About: Arsenal fears for fans' safety
Nah man, haha. They Dyer interviewed guys from West Ham, Chelsea, and Spurs (in London). The only time that Arsenal was mentioned was when the top guy from the Yid Army (Spurs) said that their man rivals were Chelsea, not Arsenal since they have a crap firm (but world class team).
Posted Wednesday March 11, 2009, About: Arsenal fears for fans' safety
Obviously you have never been to an Eagles game wearing a Cowboys jersey. haha

If you guys ever want to watch a good show (IMO) about hooliganism that isnt available in the States, go to youtube and search for "the real football factories". It's about Danny Dyer going around to different cities in England (and eventually around the world) and talking with the "top boys" from some of the firms. The ones that he filmed in the Balkins, Poland, and Argentina are pretty crazy.
Posted Thursday March 05, 2009, About: Vancouver favored to land MLS franchise
I agree man. The episodes in the Balkins, Poland, and Argentina are intense. Since you are a fan of those shows, you have to check out Danny Dier on youtube. Its a comedian making fun of the real Danny Dyer, hysterical stuff.

The only good part of Green Street is the pub and street scene (bubbles everywhere). The rest of the movie is garbage.

The regional argument is legit though. As a casual soccer fan, I won't support a MLS team just for the heck of it (will change my opinion in 2010 though with Phila. entering the league). I will never support a team from NE, NY, or DC, no matter the sport. I can't just sit and watch a game just for the beauty of it. If I do decide to watch a game, I would want to watch some of the world's bests playing the game. I dont think that makes me a "Eurosnob" though, just a casual fan who wants to be entertained by seeing some of the world's best (and listen to the English broadcast teams, which put US broadcast teams to shame).
Posted Wednesday February 25, 2009, About: Bellator to work with Strikeforce
I believe the award for winning the BFC LW Tournament is around $100K, maybe more. I doubt that he would initially get that by signing with UFC. He has said in the past that he is eventually going to sign with UFC once he earns enough money to take the "pay cut" to sign with UFC. As a huge Alvarez fan (he graduate a year ahead of me in HS), I hope everything goes according to his plan.
Posted Wednesday January 21, 2009, About: Can UFC sway New York lawmakers?
Doesn't the UFC know that you have to pay to play? They should just make a few "campaign contributions" and that should be enough to get it passed. I thought that thats how this country works.

Mogo, in case you didn't watch baseball last year, the Phillies won the WS.

Gooch was actually pretty good for the Phillies in the second half of 2007 when Utley went down. We were actually hoping that they would switch him over to 3rd base and be the starter. Luckily for us he just wanted to play 2nd base and ended up stinkin playing for the Padres.
Posted Thursday January 15, 2009, About: Next Winter Classic in new Yankee Stadium?
Yeah. I don't think the Islanders would draw. The stadium would be filled with Ranger Fans. I say put it in a stadium up in Boston (not necessarily Fenway) and have the Bruins and Canadians play each other.

I would love for the Flyers and Rangers to play each other some day out doors, perhaps at Rutgers. The proposed Flyers vs Penguins at State College is a great idea, but I dont think it would work as well since the game would be played on New Years and most of the student body would be home.
Posted Tuesday January 13, 2009, About: Coyotes one step ahead of bankruptcy
I think Seattle would be an excellent city for a relocated NHL team. Afterall, they currently have an empty arena after the SuperSonics jetted for OKC.

This is bad news for PSU. I was hoping that he would eventually replace Bradley as D-Coordinator when Bradley eventually replaces JoePa.

If Romero's story is the truer version of the events, then he def. has a case.

Before people start calling Romero stupid or whatever else, you should read his side of the story before drawing an opinion. Go to Philly.com for the article.
Posted Thursday December 18, 2008, About: Flyers crash fraternity party
Times are tough. $5 for a great night out is a wise investment in my book. This just shows how different and refreshing professional hockey players are compared to other professional athletes. People always talk about how the old time Flyers would go to the local bar after a game and hang out with the common folks. Its great to see some of the current Flyers doing the same thing, no matter whats in their bank account or what their social status is.

Richards is going to be the next Flyers legend and will be mentioned in the same breath as Bobby Clarke when all is said and done.
Posted Thursday December 11, 2008, About: Unhappy Penn State QB to transfer
This is a huge loss for Penn State. He has a big time arm. I know that PSU was smoking MSU at the time, but did anyone see that strike that he threw to Butler on that long touchdown? Big time throw. Whoever gets him in a year will certainly get a good starting QB from the start.

Clark had an awesome year. He played exceptional. But there is still a part of me that wishes that Devlin would have gotten the start at the beginning of the year. Devlin's arm with the talented and experienced receivers that PSU had would have made for quite a show. But perhaps he wouldn't have been as much as a leader as Clark was.

Reading the whole article does make ya wonder though. Clark was Jay Paterno's boy, Devlin looked like he wasnt. Jay Paterno probably had a big role in making the decision in the beginning of the season. Just makes ya wonder.
Posted Monday December 08, 2008, About: How Barcelona may land MLS team
DS, Philly and Seattle had to pay $30M for the expansion fee. MLS raised the expansion fee to $40M which is the reason why the expansion candidates are complaining since the league raised the fee by $10M.

If the owner is being this demanding even before he gets in the league, what makes them think that he won't be as demanding once he gets in? I think they should give it to St. Louis, who has been in the running for a team longer than all of these johnny come latelies.
