Let me throw this question out....i think any coach at ND will have to hope to catch lightning in a bottle...one great season, losses to graduation...then back to 7-5 ,6-6 type seasons. Stanford is hot now,but will USC be down for long? Boise St plays in the north too, they remind me of Gonzaga basketball...can Boise keep winning? TCU is hot....can they keep winning? Florida St and Miami are southern schools ,but they are down ....So....what is the formula? There really
isn't one. ND can only hope it will get hot...have a great season.......but then its back to reality.
The winning coach will be placed on a pedestal,then be lowered back to earth. They say next year Florida will be down.....are they headed for a few down years? Does anyone detect a pattern here across all of college football,not just any one team ?

I don't really know this Gradkowski ? I knew a Zeke Bartkowski or maybe it was Steve Bartkowski? or was is Bratkowski? Bratworstski? Polish QB's are kinda cool tho. Its the spelling that always trips me up.

Jimmy needs another year to improve his accuracy and timing.....he is still a work in progress.
Tate should stay in school....i suppose injury is possible...but he can improve his route running
in college instead of languishing on the sidelines for a few years in the NFL.

USC football reminds me of Duke basketball....Coach K had a long run where they reloaded and were dominant for several years....now college basketball has caught up with Duke,and now they seem like just another good team.....so it runs in cycles.....USC had a similar run and now the other teams are starting to catch up and become the new kid on the block.

ND has held the distinction of having the toughest schedule in the nation many times. To continue to play a national schedule became unrealistic. Stoops,Bowden, Carroll,Spurrier all
schedule easier games in the early part of the season...its part of playing a balanced schedule.
Some easy games......along with tougher conference or rivalry games. ND's schedule now reflects
what all D1 teams do.....this is not ducking anything....its playing a schedule comparable to all
D1 teams.

ND has closed the talent gap....they came close to beating the pro team from LA......not sure the Raiders,Charges or 49ers could beat USC.......Al Davis commented that even Mitch Mustain has a chance to play for the Raiders

The talent gap has closed.....and ND players realize they can hang w/ the pro team from LA.....
USC could beat the Raiders and Chargers....maybe the 49ers too......the second string USC guys could start for the Raiders. Al Davis is thinking Mitch Mustain looks as good as Jmarc at the moment
