The one where ND loses to freaking Navy and Air Force in the same year. I like ND, hate SC. If they are going to fire Weis, I would choose Gruden or Holtz. I doubt Meyer will ever leave FLorida cuz Fla can match any offer ND has and he's always got a chance of a NC. But that's just me.

The point is that Carroll/Gruden were actual above average/good coaches in the NFL. They have a track record and actually know how to run a whole team. I'm not saying that if Gruden does come to college he'll be a success, but his odds of success should be better than just some coordinator with no head coaching experience at all. Of the coaches that were actually HC in the NFL (Carroll, Saban, Spurrier, Davis and Petrino) they all seem to be good or at least moving their schools in the right direction.

You chose to insult me than answer a legit question. They're being recruited by Notre Dame. Not Florida, LSU, USC or Oklahoma. What other choice do they have besides going to a military acadamy or a MAC school? If they go to ND for a pro-type offense or to be coached by a NFL guy, they should be happy a actual NFL head coach would be coming in if they do fire him at some point. Meyer turned down his dream job to go to Florida the first time, he's years from going to ND if ever.

Seriously, what is with all the outrage over this? I'm not hating on ND or Weiss, but Gruden is a Head Coach with a track record and a Super Bowl ring. WOuld y'all be this upset if the rumor was Skip Holtz?????

Gruden was at Tennessee, hence why they wanted him. This "rumor" is also being talked about on ESPN, so the writer and ESPN are in the myth making business. Does anyone remember that Pete Carroll was an average NFL coach that turned around a historic but down program? Maybe lightning strikes twice.

I think a more F'd up thing would be to recruit kids, then bolt for the NFL. Kids should pay more attention to coordinators who would most likely step in if said coach left the job--unless they stink then everyone gets fired.

I find it hilarious that fans are getting fired up over this. He's a coach with Actual coaching/recruiting experience and runs the same type of offense. They wouldn't have to change personnel ala Michigan for the change over. What's the worse that can happen? Go 3-8, you've already been there.
