Lane Kiffen. He's already been proven a failure at three other destinations. Time to move on.

Lane Kiffen. He's already failed at 3 other destinations. Time to move on so he can fail somewhere else.

Eagles look like an exciting team. They're young, and at some point the team's inexperience will show. But Kolb et al is the future, and the future looks bright.

I agree with the first part. But you totally ruined your point with the second part.

Lane definitely showed he can recruit. All coaches have recruits who blow up in their faces from time to time, so it's not fair to pin that on him. On the other hand, the Zoooker proved he could recruit as well. Just couldn't translate that to wins on the field.

Basically, the tongue-in-cheeck point I was trying to make (maybe unsuccessfully) was that Forrest Gump was a simple man with below average intelligence who, through a series of events, not only has a major influence on pop culture, but ends up quite successful (Bubba Gump Shrimp) in spite of his limitations.

Kiffen is still a relatively young coach without a track record (good or bad) that has "moved up" the coaching ladder at a very young age. Some people (admittedly including me) scratch their heads that he has landed two of the highest-profile head coaching jobs in the land without putting together an impressive body of work. That's all. I wasn't trying to say that he's not capable of being a top-level head coach, just that he's certainly not there yet, but he's being paid top-level head coach money at now two premiere college football institutions. That's just my two cents worth...

That's funny. In my house, it was dad who did most of the grounding.

I stand up and applaud USC's latest moves.
The booster would have needed to pay more than just Maurkice!

I don't know how you can say that with a straight face. Myles, Meyer, Saban, Spurrier et. al make the SEC #1 when it comes to quality of coaches. Kiffen reminds me more of a typical "newbie" on one of these message boards -- all mouth. I'm not saying he won't one day be among the coaching elite, but as for now, he has yet to prove he has the chops. I do agree that SEC fans are glad to see him go, but for different reasons. Most fans, IMHO, were growing tired of his numerous wildly false accusations and brash attitude, without being able to back it up. It would have been interesting to see what he would have done at UT had he stayed another year or two.

It's called being a sports fan -- another word for fanatic. Get used to it.
The exact same kind of bashing goes on in the world of politics. Different 'sport,' but the players are just as fanatical.

so, getting back to the point of this thread, what exactly is the current tally of defections, and who else is thinking of jumping ship?
