2008 World Series losers from the AL east - Rays..
A good major league pitcher that has his deception methods working can get batters out in both leagues. A good pitcher that is not deceptive gets hammered in both leagues. John Smoltz still has a bonafide major league arm. I read where some said his velocity is lacking. This is BS. If the TV screen radars indications were correct, he was pitching in the low nineties and touching 95/96 with Boston. As far as I know, Boston did nothing to instill confidence and did not help him get straightened out. St. Louis has restored confidence to John Smoltz. St. Louis now has the major leagues all time winningest post season pitcher and heading for the playoffs. Smart move Cardinals.
