welker was only good because he was the 3rd or 4th option. once defenses key in on him he's going to disappear

loh really...was he the 3rd or 4th option the past two years, that would be no, he was the 1st or 2nd on every single play.

nm, player has to be released by march 1 and can sign anytime after that.
Posted Monday March 02, 2009, About: Sources: Smith to sign with Cavs
I thought players had to be on a teams roster by march 1 to be playoff eligble for that team. Wasnt that what people were wondering about the marbury thing, that donny walsh would release him one minute after midnight on march 1.

So apparently this happened four years ago, and the kid comes out with this right after dustin wins the mvp and signs a new contract ... shakedown.

Posted Thursday December 18, 2008, About: Red Sox think they're leading Teixeira race
Im just suprised the sox didnt make any announcement like this during the yankees press conference.
Posted Tuesday December 16, 2008, About: Signs Angels are serious about Teixeira
And besides, I'm not denying that's it's a hitters park. It definitely is. But any pitcher with a brain will realize that their opponent is pitching in the SAME EXACT conditions. There's enough stat geeks out there to recognize that 20 wins in Arlington with a 3.50 ERA may be comparable to 20 wins in NY with a 3.0 ERA or whatever. It is what it is.

But as you mentioned earlier all players perform better at home rather than away, so the Rangers hitters and pitchers performance, game to game, are skewed even further in their favor whenever they play at home.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor

right here, here it is Arlington is the no. 1 hitters park in the Majors.
Posted Tuesday December 16, 2008, About: Signs Angels are serious about Teixeira
A better way to see what a great hitters park Arlington is would be to check the stats of that park compared to other ballparks, not just individual player stats, but overall hitter stats and pitcher stats...like average of all batters, # of HR's, total avg. era...etc.
Posted Monday December 15, 2008, About: Blazers prop up underwhelming Oden
Greg oden's size and physical toughness is fine he's 280 and is just as big as Dwight Howard for christ sakes. The problem is the Trailblazers dont know how to develop a young big, he should be coming off the bench all this season and concentrating on getting rebounds blocking shots and developing a very simple post game so he can get to the foul line more often than sending people to the stripe.
Posted Saturday December 13, 2008, About: Red Sox have Varitek over a barrel
What High priced guys to the red sox have...They've had exactly one $100 mill+ player in their history. who's high priced lowell(no), lowrey(no), pedroia(no), Youk(no), Ellsbury(no), is Bay high priced(he replaced manny for gods sakes), Drew might be high priced but he makes less than burnett now($14.5, with 3 years left), Beckett makes $10 mill a year, Dicek($8.5), Lester(nuthin), Pap(nuthin), Papi($13.5). Lugo was a mistake but he makes like $8 or $9 mill a year with two years left, there have been worse mistakes than that. I would like the Sox to get Tex, hopefully their second $100 mill+ player ever, buts its ridiculous to think the sox are a team that gets rid of their beloved players for more high priced options on a regular basis. Could have had Rodriguez last year when the Yankees said they didnt want him, then look at the outrageous contract he got, they bid against nobody, and spent $275.

The is Grade A New York Post Horse ****.
Posted Tuesday November 25, 2008, About: Angels shift focus to big Sabathia offer
Very interesting situation, if CC signs with a team other than the yankees the yanks then might become desperate to sign Tex so the sox dont get him. But if the sox get Tex before CC signs, the yanks would definitly be more inclined to throw more money at CC to land him.

ya and even more sensible than yahoos thinking the sox would consider trading youkilis, i saw that once and i literally lost it laughing.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Teams tired of Garnett's bullying
wow, wagging his finger at calderon, that thug's out of control what a fcukin rebel without a cause. The NBA has come a long way since the Artest incident if Garnetts instabilities on the court are getting out of hand.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Teams tired of Garnett's bullying
Everyone knows that Garnett is intense on the court, he has been this way his entire career, people only are pissed now because he is in Boston, and winning. People just hate winners, and because boston is winning people loathe the city of boston, and because garnett is winning in boston, people now hate garnett and say hes changed...he yelled and screamed and ripped and roared all his career when the TWolves were most of the time pretty good, always the trendy pick but just never pulled it out in the playoffs. Now that he is winning, garnett is acting...................EXACTLY THE SAME.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Teixeira leaning toward Red Sox?
I dont think the yanks are committed to having two long, long massive contracts at the corner positions, completely handcuffs you with them for a decade. Also have a $140 million nearly decade long contract on the table...you dont just throw this money around long term even for the yankees.
