Maybe Sabathia's just an above average pitcher, but not a true Star. Maybe he's afraid of finding out that he's only an above average pitcher. Remember, he wasn't lights out when he was with Cleveland. He wasn't even lights out 2 years ago when they lost in the ALCS. That was Carmona's playoff performance that kept them going, not Sabathia. There have been alot of pitchers who came to New York with that "Great" status and failed on the New York Big Stage... ala Kevin Brown, Javier Vasquez, Roger Clemens (Yeah that's right I said Roger Clemens - name one big performance he had in the playoffs for the Yankees), ect...
Maybe the Yankees are better off letting this guy go to the West Coast. He's not Johan Santana. The Yankees lost out on that boat a year ago.
