Manny is a great hitter, but at 36; he's turned down the Dodgers 3 year 75mil!?. Said he might consider retiring. (Yeah right!) Don't need or want his drama. I'd take Tex any day playing 1st. batting 3rd. between Jeter and A Rod. Tex at 28, is entering his prime. We haven't had a great 1st. baseman since Tino. Tex also brings youth and a gold glove. Again, Manny is one of the best, but you have to consider the his age. With Abreu and Giambi gone, we need to fortify this offense. Matsui and Posada are big ????. I like Nady in right. Swisher ain't the answer at 1st. and won't come close to filling the hole left by the departed. A utility player for LF/ist.base/Dh. Matsui and Damon are off the books next year and I suspect (without any injuries this contract year?) they'll have a good season. Sign TEX!! Merry Christmas YANKS!

The next move for the Yanks is to get Tex signed by Xmas!! Don't like the Cameron deal (the strike outs will kill us). I understand it's a bridge to AJ, but losing Abreu's OBP and Giambi bat?? Tex would offer the best option for this offense. Matsui and Damon are coming off the books next year anyway. I know Manny's bat is one of the best of all time, but I'll take Tex any day. Manny's 36? Tex 28 and has the bat and glove. This would also give A Rod protection with Tex batting 3rd. Sign Tex!

I wouldn't sign him for no more then 8/9 mil for 1 more year. Andy's at best a 4/5 starter? Let Torre have him. Will the Dodgers pay him more than 10mil? No. It's time to move on Yanks! Sign Texeira for 7/8 years with an opt 9. Let C.C. go to the west coast. It's a lost cause when you offer a player a record setting pay day and they sit on their **** and wait for Mo Money! Learn from the past Yanks...Pavano? K. Brown? B Zito! these guys picked up their check on payday with them dark sunglasses and a ski mask.. Stay away from giving pitchers long expensive contracts.
