But god, do they need a coach at OSU. The SweaterVest has become a Jim Rome punching bag in the last few years.
Amazing that ND gave this badonkadonk a 10-year deal. Of course, this is the same organization that used to "relocate" priests, so I guess it fits.
Aside from the aberration that was 2005, this is a program that is in serious decline. Charlie is NOT the guy to turn this around. His reputation was as inflated as his belly, and he has yet to prove himself on the college level. This is going to finish as a 6-6 season with a schedule that EVERYONE admits is easier than last year's schedule! Part of me would LOVE for them to get a major bowl game, so I can watch another blowout.
I remember a crazy ND friend of mine wanting to bet me on the ND/LSU game a few years back, even though I am a fan of neither team.. I was pretty convinced that he had lost his mind, so I tried to get him to bet me $500 that ND would win. Instead, he negotiated it down to $100. Of course, I basically collected the C-note at halftime. LSU could have scored 60 in that game if they wanted to.
Of course, watching the officiating of these games make me realize they DO have some serious problems. I was disturbed with the difference in penalties in the SD/Pittsburgh game. I've been watching football a LONG time, and never have I seen a stat quite as strange as that one.
I'm convinced that there is some 'manipulation' of the game by the officials. Whether it is intentional, or just poor officiating, remains to be seen.
