are the angels better, they won af ew more games than the yanks, the yankees still had more wins than most NL playoff teams at 89 with injuries to posada,Matsui,Wang,Chamberlon, and many others missed a few weeks, matsui,wang,and posada missed most of the season. Also the angels are losing k-rod who had a major league record in saves. I am not saying they can't resign him, but if they sign Sabathia there is no shot!!

are u kidding. If the red sox sign texeria to the biggest deal in franchise history it will hurt them big time. Unlike the Yankee's and probably the mets the red sox are a highly leveraged franchise, Henry is still paying for team while the New york teams are paying for their new stadiums which will make them insane amounts of money. Soon the sox have to resign Becket who I believe is in his last year of a 3 yr 30 million dollar deal and he is getting a raise. They have to take care of Papplebaun,Pedrioa,Youkalis,and Dice-K will want more money soon enough. They should resign their captain Jason Varitek because of his leadership and handling of the pitching staff and that will cost 20-24 million. Lester is one of the best young pitchers in the game is close to abritration also. The sox need to soldify their bullpen and add another starter to the back end which isn't cheap. They may also need to upgrade center field. Trading Lowell will cost them millions and will they really trade ortiz their most clutch hitter who may have been hurt last yr but it getting better. If we hear Texeria to the Red sox it is only because Mark has told Boras he wants to be a Yankee and knows by involving Boston he will get a huge contarct from the team many belive he wants to play for the most anyway, the new york Yankees.

The yankee's have signed away many free agents from other teams over the years and it has never happened overnight. Even Rivera and Posada took time to resign even though they love playing for the yankee's and never wanted to play anywhere else. If it comes down to the yanks and dodgers the yanks will recruit him using Current players, many former players that may include the ones honered during the ceremony during the Yankee's last game at the old yankee stadium,and celebrities. They'll sell him on playing for the yankee's,playing in Ny, where to live with his wife and two children,and anything else he needs. A 7th year or an option for one with a 5 to ten million dollar buyout would most likely close the deal, he could use the rational that the yankee's are always trying to win and if he can't spend all the money there will be more available for the many charities he is involved in. The yankees will not go out without a fight if they truly believe he is an ace that could give them one of the top 1,2,3 punches in the game with wang and chamberlon, maybe throw in another good free agent and the 22 year old philip hughes is looing good again and will start next seaosn in triple A and could still be a high 2 or 3 in a good rotaion eventually. And for you new york haters, I spend lots of time in La and there are many things i enjoy out there but the sports is defintiely not one of them!!

Toomer has been a class act for the giants and he will be willing to take a pay cut and play year to year, he has been a great guy and good example for the frnachise and ownshership is aware of this.
