Posted Monday November 16, 2009, About: Harbaugh ticks off Carroll
Pete Carroll has usually done a pretty good job of not rubbing it in when his team is up big in a game, conference or otherwise. He tends to not throw the ball a lot in the second half if he's got a big lead. Sometimes the scores don't indicate that, but if you look back at a lot of the huge wins USC has had during Carroll's time, many of the late scores are on defensive TD's and/or running plays that break for a long TD, and I don't have a problem with either. Growing up as a UW fan and now going to WSU, I have seen enough of the USC wins over my teams and have gained a certain level of respect for Pete Carroll's actions.

That being said, having USC not win the conference this year is a GOOD thing for the PAC-10, because it shows that there are other good teams in this conference, which should gain the PAC-10 some respect. Every year teams like Oregon get overlooked because they didn't win the conference, but they are still a consistent 9 or 10 win team. The PAC-10's bowl records echo that point.

Coaches like Harbaugh are obviously going to take the opportunity to stick it to USC whenever they can for the simple fact that USC has been one of the dominating teams in college football for the last decade or so. However, Harbaugh should have had a little bit more foresight. USC struggling a little bit this year should not have come as a surprise to many fans that follow the sport. Freshman QB, a bunch of new starters on defense, losing Sarkisian, and a couple of key injuries (Corp starting against UW because Barkley was hurt, Bradford's accident, Mays tweaking his knee, etc), combined with some pretty good teams in the conference was a recipe for a couple conference losses. But over the next few years a lot of the younger players are going to gain experience and get better (Barkley in particular, this kid has struggled at times but he's a true freshman who won on the road at Ohio State and Notre Dame), Carroll will recruit his tail off in the offseason's, and they will all remember games like Stanford and Oregon this year and use that as motivation. At the very least, it should be extremely interesting to see how this all shakes out over the next couple of seasons.
Posted Wednesday July 29, 2009, About: Phillies closer to landing Halladay
I think the Phillies offer of Happ, Donald, and two other good prospects was pretty fair. They aren't going to give up Drabek, who will probably get called up in September for some experience, and who will be in their starting 5 next year. Donald isn't going to be a full time SS with the Phillies as long as Rollins is there. And the Jays aren't going to get 4 legit prospects from anyone else for Halladay. If they wait until the off-season they'll be lucky to get 3, and if they wait until the deadline next year then they'll only get 2 since Halladay will be a half-season rental.
Posted Wednesday July 29, 2009, About: Yankees interested in Washburn
The Yankees have interest but won't give up a legit prospect for him. I think Z is going to try and get Alcides Escobar from the Brew Crew for Washburn and another pitcher from the system, maybe throw in Batista to help the Brewers bullpen (he actually has been pretty decent this year in that role).
Posted Wednesday July 29, 2009, About: Romo bans Jessica from home
There's been a lot of people bashing on Romo because of the timing of this whole thing. The way I see it, he was a pretty nice guy. She got fat, and he gave her a few months to lose some weight and get back on track. She didn't, so he gave her the boot. Attaboy Tony. No fat chicks.
Posted Sunday May 03, 2009, About: Source: 'Favre can't stand Green Bay'
Does it even matter if he plays? We all saw last year down the stretch that he's washed up. He can't throw the deep ball like he used to, so in essence he becomes a typical west coast QB, which doesn't stretch the field at all and won't force teams to not stack the box against the run. Minnesota is better off trying to develop Jackson for another year and see what happens there. If the Packers D can be top 15-20 then Green Bay will win the division anyway.

Hey Brett, I don't know if you noticed, but Rodgers had better numbers than you last year. Looks like Green Bay made a pretty good call.

You signed the contract. Nobody held a gun to your head and made you sign it. So when you feel like you're underpaid and mistreated, go take a look at yourself in the mirror, and say the magic words "I have no one to blame but myself".

Why do they say 'cousin'? Are they not related?

Haha yeah nothing to do with it at all!
Posted Friday February 27, 2009, About: Governor: UConn's Calhoun 'embarrassing'
Woops, "she". And she doesn't even use her first name. How can anybody respect someone that uses an initial for their first name? That's just stupid.

Why was a freelancer and political activist asking questions of a basketball coach, at an arena, after a game? ASK QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO BASKETBALL YOU MORON. I've got to stop I feel my blood pressure rising.
Posted Friday February 27, 2009, About: Governor: UConn's Calhoun 'embarrassing'
The Governor of Connecticit should probably be a little more concerned with the role the Governor of a state has in the state's budget process, considering Connecticut is $900 million in the hole right now. Maybe, just maybe, he should shut his pie hole and worry about that and not Jim Calhoun getting p-o'd at some jackarse reporter. The reporter knew he was being a jackarse, and was just trying to get on ESPN, since he most likely was too much of a pansy to ever even attempt to play team sports as a child.

REPEAT AFTER ME PEOPLE: "I AM THE ONLY PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO ME. I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT CONTROLS MY OWN DESTINY. IT IS NOBODY ELSE'S FAULT WHEN I FAIL. IT IS MY FAULT IF I LOSE MY JOB, BECAUSE I OBVIOUSLY DID NOT WORK HARD ENOUGH TO MAKE MY COMPANY WANT TO KEEP ME. IT IS MY FAULT THAT I SIGNED A CRAPPY LOAN WHEN I BOUGHT MY HOUSE. IT IS MY FAULT THAT I BOUGHT A $400K HOUSE WHEN I ONLY MAKE $30K/YR. IT IS NOT ANYBODY'S RESPONSIBILITY TO HELP ME WHEN I FAIL. IT IS NOT ANYBODY ELSE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ME."

The only way that any coaches or players in any sport are going to get paid any less for what they do is if people stop going to games and stop buying the merchandise. It really is that simple.

Nope, just been a Marine for a long time and get tired of hearing all the excuses for stuff. I deal with kids every day that **** and moan when they get disciplined for not completing a simple task.
Posted Sunday February 15, 2009, About: Teams that might trade for Vick
This article is a joke. Michael Vick will never play in Seattle as long as Tim Ruskell is the GM and Paul Allen owns the team. They're all about character guys. Way to NOT do your research. No wonder people in Atlanta are uneducated, their newspaper is garbage.
Posted Sunday February 15, 2009, About: Steelers kicker's terrible towel incident
What's wrong with getting pissed off because somebody didn't do their job? A mojority of these comments are examples of the pussification of America. Reed probably got pissed because some loser working the counter at a convenience store at 3 am couldn't stop smoking weed or **** behind the register long enough to DO HIS DAMN JOB and refill the paper towel dispenser. Not that difficult.
Posted Monday January 26, 2009, About: Knicks frustrated with Robinson
Making all kinds of money, great job playing a kids game in front of thousands (oh wait it's the Knicks, I mean hundreds) of fans, got at least SOME college education (haha) for free, and he can't stop acting like a 13 yr old wannabe gang-banger in the 'hood. I'm waiting for his mama to come rumbling out of the stands to slap the **** out of that boy.
Posted Monday January 26, 2009, About: Torre: 'A-Fraud' obsessed with Jeter
They'll be chanting "A-Fraud" in the Bronx when A-Rod goes 0 for 10 with 6 strikeouts in a key September series against (pick one) Boston, Tampa, random east coast all-girls' school...
Posted Monday January 26, 2009, About: Radomski: I took urine tests for Gooden
I don't like him, but I can't get too angry at Radomski in all of this. Not saying I'd ever offer the guy a beer, but it seems like he is the only person in this whole deal that's actually been honest. Our country makes me laugh, because we bash on Radomski for "ratting out" players and being truthful, and people continue to defend the Gooden, Strawberry, Clemens, Bonds, McGwire's of the sports world. Amazing.
Posted Friday December 05, 2008, About: Washington to hire USC's Sarkisian
UW wants to hire a younger coach who will be around for more than a few seasons. They want to end the coaching carousel that has been going on since the old AD fired Neuheisel. Sarkisian's background at USC (he's a great recruiter and his offense has put a LOT of players in the NFL) will help UW get back on the map in the PAC-10. He comes from a program that knows how to win and has been successful for 7 years straight. I think this is a great hire by UW and hopefully we can get back to the days of at least being competitive in the conference and going to decent bowl games. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to win the PAC-10 until Carroll retires or decides to give the NFL another shot.
