there's gotta be someone we can trade him to for something in return. i mentioned this to another sox fan the other day, and they told me they could never do that he IS the Red Sox, and i replied your right and thats why they are out of the playoffs right now. I cant thank Ortiz enough for what he has done for this team winning those two championships, but now the only way he can help us is by being traded to help create a new lineup with a few younger better bats

i think most people saying that they would win the series are taking in to account the guys they already have plus Halladay

Phillies: Halladay, Hamels
Yankees: Halladay, C.C. ,Burnett
Red Sox: Halladay, Beckett, Lester
Dodgers: Halladay, Billingsly

idk about any one else but whoever gets Halladay is going to have a Hell of a pitching rotation come October that is going to be very tough to beat in a short series especially when you would have to face each of the at least TWICE

The only sox pitching prospect who is untouchable should be Bard. They have tons of pitching besides him they could trade to get this deal done. The only reason Bard is different is because he hit 100 on the gun a couple times per game and guys like that are extremely hard to find. Just about every team in baseball has at least one good starter. Very few teams have a guy that throws 98-100 consistently.

Ortiz is out of shape and he's always been a big guy. compared to other "big guy" power hitters of the past idk why they would give him such a long contract. it doesnt make any sense. most of these types of hitters are out of the league at any where from 35-37.

Second basemen that are gold glovers and silver sluggers is almost impossible this was a deal that the Red Sox had to make Pedi is the best second basemen in all of baseball

Fact is Tech beat Texas and Oklahoma murdered Tech. When Texas beat Oklahoma back in week six iti wasnt by much and OU had injuries. They seem comparable to Florida in the fact that neither of their offenses were in full swing yet. i thought that Tech had the greatest O i had ever seen especially the way they shredded through the Texas D with like a 1:30 left to score the winning TD but i was WRONG OU is absolutely amazing they clearly have their offense rolling now when was the last time they scored less than 40. True OU lost to Texas but if they played each other this weekend Texas would get beat as bad or worse than Tech. i dont get how Texas is ahead of OU but that wont matter after OU smashes OK State the way they did to Tech then OU will definately move ahead of Texas and eventually on to the natl Championship game (personally i really dont like OU but they r absolutely amazing)

The fact is Texas lost to Tech and Oklahoma murdered them and OU didnot lose by much on a nuetral field w/ injuries. OU is similar to Floirda b/c there offense hadnt really got going yet like it did on saturday. If Texas played the Sooners this weekend i hav a feeling Texas would get beaten BAD! Oklahoma is rediculously good and anyone who watched the Tech OU game saw that I thought Tech was the greatest O i had ever seen until that game. OU should Definately be above Texas now and they will be after they kill Oklahoma State just as bad as they did to Tech.
