Yeah, in NY, only the owner can be a head case.

Temporary meaning all year? Won't see Wilfork or Mayo until training camp.

Where do you live? Oh, I know. It must be in the past. :)

If you're looking at the letter of the rule, then yes, the Jets should've been penalized, though if you look at the tape, you'll see the Jets were less egregious about it.

Then again, the Pats got away with it the previous week as well or they wouldn't have beaten the Saints, so Bill is one to talk.

Right, first the refs had the rule wrong. Then when everyone points out he had the rule wrong, blame the Jets for getting the officials to call it. Classy, classy, classy.

You got out-rushed, out-passed, just plain beaten. Deal with it.

I see, you can accept a loss, but only if it involves lashing out at the other team and their fans at the same time? Just like Belichick. Stay classy!
Posted Wednesday October 23, 2013, About: Sour Belichick: Jets broke rules, too
And you Pats fans can't face up to a loss without an excuse.

It was the correct call. Doesn't matter when it was made. The league does plenty of education on the new rules. I don't buy the playing dumb at all. I believe Belichick knows every rule in the book and looks for ways to exploit them, like he should. But you'll get caught sometimes.

Once again, Belichick breaks a rule, then plays dumb when penalized. He must be the smartest dumb guy in the league.

Legend in his own mind.

Sorry, the two do not equate. Hendrix is still the greatest guitarist ever. Cheech and Chong probably wouldn't have made the top 5 when they were doing clubs/movies/tv.

oh no, they're lining up behind Boehner and killing moderate Republications (figuratively, not literally)

It's a shame, but the likely eventual result of the change in ownership. Hal and Hank don't care about winning like Dad did. If George could crawl out of the grave and fired them, he would.

I hear Minnie Minoso might be available.
Posted Wednesday October 16, 2013, About: Yankees, Beltran share mutual interest
The average age was based on this year's team, not some theoretical team next year.

And replacing them with a 37-year old Beltran isn't going to help the average much.

i didn't even include CC or Youklis.

A good example of how stats can be totally misleading.

Red Sox players who are 34 or older: Lackey, Dempster, Ross, Ortiz, Uehara
Yankees players who are 34 or old: Kuroda, Petitte, Mo, Jeter, A-Rod, Overbay, Wells, Ichiro, Soriano

That's 3 starters and 2 bench players for the Sox. But that's 7 Yankee regulars and 2 bench players.
Posted Thursday July 18, 2013, About: D'Antoni tweaks Howard
What's the over-under for number of games before D'Antoni is fired? Gotta be higher than the 5 games Mike Brown got... but not much.
Posted Friday May 31, 2013, About: Dirtiest player in the league
Just for fun, thought I'd try this...

Metta is dirty??? Nope.Metta never starts stuff on the court but you can best believe he will finish it. Metta just doesn't take crap off people. Call it dirty if you like but I like how he stands up for himself and his teammates. Basically he doesn't wait for the refs to clean it up, he will clean it up for them.

Sounds exactly the same.
Posted Tuesday May 21, 2013, About: No lock for Lakers, Howard intrigued by Houston
Watching Howard these last couple of years, on and off the court, I think they picked the wrong person to nickname "Big Baby".
Posted Friday May 10, 2013, About: Sunscreen trick gives pitchers' glue-like grip
I'm not sure I understand why this is a big deal. It's one thing to say that pitchers use this combination to get a grip on the ball. It's another to say that pitchers are leaving this substance on the ball to affect the spin.

If Buchholz is putting something on the ball, the umpire can stop play, look at the ball, and toss him if he is. Other than that, I don't understand what is being defined here as cheating. Sounds like a bunch of news media need something to talk about.
