The upper brass of the Red Sox management team is so much smarter than those idiots in NYC. They will keep Varitek but they are not going to give him a contract like the one Posada got as it was over paying for a old player. Paying a player for what he has done in the past which is nice. However it will cost the Yankess in the future when Posada's contract does not match his production. Just like they did when they gave that nice contract to Johnny I can't throw the ball back in to second base Damon. Just like those idiot Met's did when the signed Pedro Martinez. See that is the beauty of Red Sox nation we don't over pay for talent. We develop it from within see Justin Pedroia--Rookie of the Year followed up by MVP, then of course there is YOOOOOOkulis, oh ya we also have a center fielder who can play and yes we developed him. I won't even go into the pitching see Bucholtz, Masterson and of course PAPELBON. Yankee fans you think things will be great now that you have signed Sabathia and Burkett but don't forget the boys up I-95 have a great team. Pitching that is second to none and a line up that will kill you and you better hope that Texeria does not sign with Boston or you can just give us the World Series Trophy.
