Hot rumor has it that an agreement has been reached. No buyout for Leach if he leaves early and they inked a 5 year deal today.

Or another way to look at is if Tech was so lucky to win what do the stats say otherwise?

I understand a Husker fan's desire for Leach to leave Texas Tech given the paddling over the years Texas Tech has provided to the Huskers under Leach. Help me out please. When was the last Nebraska beat Texas Tech in football? I do have pity for 70-10. Does that score ring a bell?

I have no problem stating Ole Miss paddled Texas Tech, unlike those trying to explain away the are whippin' Texas received in Lubbock. I also agree score is what it is all about and stats take a back seat. However, when revisionists in full denial seek to avoid the score (39-33), sometimes stats prove helpful in reminding such delusional clowns of their folly.

When a team gets the arse so soundly paddled, gets a 91 yard pass play and only loses by 6 after such an arsde paddling that team is lucky. How did those stats read? Did you even watch the game? The stats tell the more accurate story of what went on in that game.

Charnmit, please remove the crack from your pipe and put these stats from the Texas Tech defeat of Texas in your pipe and smoke it:

TEXAS STATISTICS TEXAS TECH
18 FIRST DOWNS 31
374 TOTAL NET YARDS 579
80 NET YARDS RUSHING 105
294 NET YARDS PASSING 474
8-56 PENALTIES: Number-Yards 8-78
2-1 FUMBLES: Number-Lost 2-1
23:07 TIME OF POSSESSION 36:53

Simply put, Texas Tech soundly paddled the Horns' arse that game.

Tech put a solid whipping on /Texas thatthe score did not reflect, but the stats did. Texas Tech did not get lucky, rather, Texas got lucky the score was not worse than 39-33.

If Leach wants to attend the meeting and the Board says no then it could get very interesting. Sec. 551.074 of the Open Meetings Act states that there can be no Executive Session (or private deliberations) IF the officer or employee requests the meeting to be in public. Either Leach is allowed in with his agent in tow I would assume or if told no dice then Leach requests the Regent's meeting be open to the public. Mikey Law could really cramp the style of these folks not accustomed to the light of day.

Is this all just a play?

And the conclusion will be Myers getting stabbed in the back by Hance on Friday? Et tu Kent?

After Myers falls on the sword, Leach like a quadrupled chinned dandy playwrite runs into the Board room and everyone bows while the press claps and throws roses, or maybe not.

Think about it, no permanent scars yet and two weeks of TTU in the headlines nationally at no cost.

Ignorance Unbound, a joint work by Kent Hance and Gerald Myers available in a Borders in Lubbock only soon.

Saying D y k e s is inferior to Leach is not slighting good ol' Spike. Remeber, Spike never won 10 games and never made it into the Cotton beyond a 6-6 Tech team that got slaughtered by USC. Though D y k e s can be proud of what he did, Spike simply did not have as successful a run at Tech compared as Leach.

D y k e s was good, but not as good as Leach. 7-4 and the alamo Bowl year in and year out.

Rotan. Sweet. Home of the late great Sammy Baugh.

Do not be so confident Gundy is the man. If any team has a poorer defense than Texas Tech it is OSU.

Texas Tech is not alone in that regard. Leach will be no college's kin (except perhaps BYU, but I doubt even that).

The people that like Leach appear to be the average fan and student. The pockets of any one of these folks are not that deep, but as a collective they have impact.

I do not remeber the game as well as you, but I guess Florida State found a way to stop Vick long enough.

I'll gve the nod to Virginia Tech as well, but it is a much closer call than some have suggested.

Gerald Myers is a problem, but as time drags on it appears this incompetent subordinate lackey is simply following orders like a good little slave from above handed down by an equally incompetent, at least as it concerns the Leach situation, Board and Chancellor.

I agree OU is much more respecdted and revered over time, but the last 13 years was my point.

At least 3 better teams than Virginia Tech.
