I agree. It won't be much of a loss if the braves bring him to spring training and he shows no improvement. I have always liked Jones and if he could come back with the braves and have a good season i'm okay with that. but i don't know if he could lose 30 pounds....

i suggest that the braves sign him for 1 year minimum salary. see what hes got and invite him to camp. if he's no good the braves didn't waste that much. but he will need to lose 30 pounds if he's got a chance, which he probably won't.

DON'T sign jones. he is NOT the answer to our problems. wren is not aggressive enough to get anyone of the FA market. he is just waiting for things to happen and then make a move well it's not working. lowe, is not worth all that money. the mets offer 36 mil 3 years is probably the best he is going to get, maybe he will get a 40 mil 3 years contract from a team but now 16million. i don't know about sheets, he may have a good season he may not. but if wren does someting he could go for lowe or try for sheets. he's got his injuries as a downside on him. but atleast wren does something.

i know he wants to play more to his maryland home but the O's probably aren't going to get him. i don't think the red sox need him. i just hope he doesn't go to the nats. he will most likely end up with the Angels or O's.

Yea you get an ace but the braves could have had an ace (peavy) and done just as well for less money. wren i think is doing a good job with what he has been give. with all the injuries that his rotation went through it's probably hard to find a good pitcher thats a FA. I know he wants to play in the NL, but for how long? no one may make an offer that will live up to the yanks right now with a little more than 23 million a year. and wren's mind is on burnett not CC. wren could try for CC but sabathia would probably not go to the braves anyways.

The braves aren't interested in spending that much money for CC. There would be too much competition. They don't have 100 million dollars like the yanks have to spend. they would rather spend their money on a few other top starter pitchers rather than an ace like Sabathia that might be only good for 2-3 years.

I would rather have peavy than burnett. but the negotiations with peavy are done right now for wren and towers. the braves had a pretty good package for peavy but the padres didn't take it. but burnett had just one good year and gets injured a lot. so i don't know if they should get burnett. have we braves fans learned anything from mike hampton? i want burnett but not that bad.

As a braves fan i am glad that hampton is going to houston. braves fans have been waiting for this guy to prove himself and win 20 games like he did for the astros in the 1990's. all he has done is taken the braves money by being on the DL for the past few years. it makes me mad, but i do feel sorry for the guy and his kids.
