Before he goes to the front office, he should check out what happened to Mike Holmgren when he tried to do the same thing. Couldn't do it in Seattle, where they took away those duties from him and made him a full time coach. Couldn't do it in Cleveland, where they ended up firing him.
May not be a good idea to make accusations like child molestation unless you have some proof. Based on what I've read (e.g. Posnaski's biography), Paterno did not like Sandusky and was looking for was to fire him at the time Sandusky retired from coaching.
Great for Shanahan to acknowledge the issue - after he loses his star QB at least in part due to the conditions. Kindof like closing the barn door after the horses have gotten out.
It's definitely a business, but you do want to take care of guys who have put out for the team. Give the team a good reputation among players in order to attract talent.
Same sort of rumor started last year with the Mariners and Prince Fielder. For 2 - 3 weeks Mariner fans imagine that they can contend if the team signs the slugger. Then reality sets in - The rumor is just a rumor. The team isn't realistically pursuing the free agent, who ends up signing elsewhere. And the Mariners continue to occupy the bottom of the AL West.
Nicks and Hixon both missed a number of games last year.
How is that "hell".
