Posted Saturday February 23, 2013, About: GM Glen Grunwald: Knicks can win it all
New York fans show that they are knowledgeable. The Ronnie Brewer trade was terrible. He'll never be marque or a great jump shooter but the guy can play. The Knicks recent downturn is in part due to his lack of PT. With his size and defensive acumen the Knicks were able to mix and match defensive assignment before. Not so much anymore. They aren't able to hide Kidd or Melo as much.

Ronnie should be playing for the Knicks about 20 to 25mins per game. An old Sloan disciple always knows the ins and outs of real hoops.
Posted Thursday February 07, 2013, About: Oden now eyeing Spurs, Bobcats
He should be looking at Phoenix due to the miracles their training staff have been able to produce. Perhaps the interest isn't mutual.
Posted Wednesday November 21, 2012, About: The NBA's most improved player
Once Dirk gets back they'll be much more formidable on offence. I agree with the earlier post re. Kaman. He's got it rolling right now. Feed the ball to that man!

Knicks have gotten great play out of their lesser players. Brewer, Wallace and Kidd have been great so far. Brewer matches well with their starters.
Posted Wednesday November 21, 2012, About: Rivers: 'No idea' what record Rondo's chasing
Man, you're way off. Malone was a great player but who else? Bryon Russell is on par with Trevor Ariza. Jeff Hornacek would have been like a current day Ray Allen....all shot, nothing else. Who else; Howard Isley, SHanden Anderson, Greg Ostertag? ROndo's teams were way better than stockton's teams in Utah. Utah had Karl, Stockton and Jerry...that's it!
Posted Monday October 01, 2012, About: Mavs have a new enforcer
In fairness to Brand, he did have a great season defensively last year in Philly (Zach Lowe had a good article about this late last season). While he's no Chandler, he'll ease Dirk's defensive duties down low.
Posted Monday November 21, 2011, About: Kirilenko left bloodied and broken
The guy was a pretty versatile player in his day. He isn't that old and I believe in the proper system he could thrive again. More as a undersized 4 than a 3 anymore.
Posted Wednesday August 17, 2011, About: Parker's lockout plan: France or nothing
Amen! Playing pro ball in the south of France is quite a bit different than China. Less money I'm sure but quality of life, second to none.
Posted Sunday January 02, 2011, About: Sources: Brown ticked off at Bobcats
I actually would like to see what LB could do with the Sacramento roster. He is a great teacher and there is a lot of obvious young talent on that roster. He couldn't do worse than Westphal's doing.
Posted Saturday October 23, 2010, About: Would Winnipeg fans pay the NHL price?
Again, as I've said in the past, the Nordiques and Jets didn't leave because of lack of fan support. Both had bad arenas, bad ownership and the Canadian dollar was at an all time low. Both teams would thrive now although I agree with an earlier poster, if Edmonton has trouble bringing in Free Agents then Winnipeg would be in trouble. Quebec City on the other hand, it's small and cold BUT have you seen the women that reside in that city? F'n incredible!
Posted Friday October 22, 2010, About: Inside Halladay-Burrell confrontation
I like the emotion out of Halladay. As Verducci wrote, it was great to see him battle when his team needed it. As for husky players, I always loved Steve Balboni. He looked like he should be working at a pizzaria in Brooklyn.
Posted Sunday August 22, 2010, About: Oden's recovery on schedule
I say Portland has to play out this year. Camby starts and you see what you get out of Przbilla and Oden. Essentially their game is the same. I know Oden has 'potential' but really, at this stage they are both big Rebouders. Oden is perpetually injured, Przbilla had an injury. If all three centers are reasonably healthy then with ALdridge, they have a nice big rotation to combat the Lakers.
Posted Saturday August 21, 2010, About: Suns' Dragic may go back to Europe
Let's not forget the quantum leap his game took from year 1 to the end of last year. He's only 24 so it will be interesting to see how he develops this year. With Nash aging and Barbosa gone, his minutes will likely go up.
Posted Saturday August 21, 2010, About: Butler close to Heat deal
Agreed. Practising against LeBron everyday can't hurt your develpment. He needs to get his knee healthy though. Prior to his injury he was one of the best players in last year's NCAA tournament.
Posted Saturday August 21, 2010, About: Suns' Dragic may go back to Europe
The kid's got game. Point guards are commodities. I figure he stays in the NBA. This is likely just a ploy to drive up his next contract, likely with the Suns as Steve Nash can't have many years left after this one.
Posted Friday August 20, 2010, About: Pierce wants to play in Europe
I totally agree. He just has never been a high flyer, nor does he have the typically 2010 NBA body but he's as good as there is when the money's on the line. Not that he always does but Pierce can certainly D up when it's crunch time too.
Posted Wednesday July 14, 2010, About: Richardson sparks Heat rivalry with Howard comment
Agreed. While Pietrus is no All Star, he should definately get more time than he does. Long physical defenders with range aren't easy to find. Particularily younger ones.
Posted Monday July 12, 2010, About: Turkoglu subplot involves agent
While it's great that the Suns got a secondary ballhandler "to take the pressure off Nash", was I the only one who noticed that Goran Dragic is a definate player in this league and Nash's eventual successor at the point? Will Turk's need for the ball in his hands slow down Dragic's development?
Posted Saturday July 03, 2010, About: Rockets shopping sign-and-trades
The Rockets would be wise to ride out one more year with Yao. If the re-sign Scola (a very good PF) then their Starting Lineup is: Aaron Brooks, Kevin Martin, Trevor Ariza, Luis Scola, and Yao Ming. First bench guys: Shane Battier, Chuck Hayes, Kyle Lowry and Jordan Hill.

That's a pretty fine top nine guys. Lots of versatility, defence, shooting, etc. If Yao can't continue, then I'm quite sure his contract is up next year and they can blow up/retool then. Let it ride this year!
